Bulding a GK Apocalypse Army...

i wasnt even getting minutes out of mine. 2 or 3 models before i had to switch around to another bottle. never got a flow close to what their video of "how it works" showed. id say the spirit of apocalypse is to have fun and cause the biggest explosion, so im sure youll be fine ^_^. ive decided to fiddle with my shadowsword and redo some of its guns. i greenstuffed the heavy bolters to look like psycannons a while ago but i did a terrible job at it, so im putting in hurricane bolter sponsons with a gatling psilencer on top for each side mount, heavy bolters back on front, and an AA mount on the top somewhere using tornado launchers

I use the spray gun mainly with vehicles, with infantry models I had even worst experiences. What you describe is exactly what happened to me.

Back on dread: How many dreads/Lucius drop pods do you suggest to field?

I don't have a point limit yet. I made a quick calculation and my current GK collection is about 7000 points, maybe more. Beside I'm thinking about to "recruit" other space marines chapters' minis and use them as..... Deathwatch . It is still an Iquisition led force, thus I see it logical they fight alongside GK in a apocalypse-scale war.

You concept about the GK-style shadowsword is very interesting...if you decide to post some photo of the vehicle let us know.

Get a couple of Thunderhawks and have them drop those terminators in Redeemer raiders
:

It's not easy to transport two Thuderhawks from my home to my local store...

The funny thing about the Grey Knight codex is that it's so points-heavy you don't even need to play Apocalypse to blow out the points bank. Assuming even that Coteaz Henchmen use up slots, you can still build a 11171-point force in just one chart, never using multiple redundant choices.

Indeed but apocalypse brings warhammer 40k to a different dimension. In apocalypse GK can add even more "variety" to their own forces. Beside I doubt you can find an opponent who can match such point limit in a single FOC.

Apocalypse makes possible to add legendary units, to mix GK with other units, playing Forge World models. A completely different dimension ;)

By the way no one denies GK models have a very high points cost. :D Great power has a great cost, after all.

By the way, why is the Achilles nerfed, he still use the rules on pdf, or am I wrong?

As far as I'm aware, it's udated rules were release din the latest IA. If not, then it's only rumours I remember aobut it's cost being changed and it being nerfed. :)

No, but that is the 'experimental' rules only.

And is now out of date, as the official rules have had an official release.

(Or will have if it's in the SW/Eldar one, and folk who've seen it already say it's nerfed. No idea, sorry. ;) )

get a stormlord. drop 20 terms into and have ait like a superheavy landraider.

The only limit of a superheavy transport is its speed. It moves 6" only and considered the lenght of apocalypse table it risks to remain out of combat, unless you don't use the stratagem that allows your units to enter from any border, that is, in my opinion, a must.

Stormlord can be a valid form of protection for dreads, since superheavy transports can embark dreads.

I agree, the Grey Knight Thunderhawk is the best option if your going apocalypse.

Rules are in it's description on the link I gave.

As its free to download from forgeworld then we can comment on cost and stats I assume.

900 points for a monster flyer that holds 30 men, can have 4 t-l psycannons and a plethora of big weapons, including been able to do bombing runs. A special rule vs melta weapons and 3 structure points. What a monster.

Greetings. A quick question for you GK-apoc vets. Would I be able to field multiple inq henchmen warbands in Apoc without fielding Coteaz?

If so, My Templars have just gotten an ordo hereticus ally with red redemption backing :tu:

I've checked with both of my local GW Stores in the area here on this same issue, both gave me the exact same answer of Yes. Mostly I was checking due to my 40 some odd ISTs, 6 arcos, 6 DCAs, plus another dozen or so various henchmen models.

It seems like per most things, the only real restriction in the new GK Codex for Apocalypse as far as our veteran models are concerned was the 0-1 for all the Temple Assassins, unless the Apoc formation of multiple assassins was used.
