Mortarion
I've painted another unit of Sanguinary guard for my Flesh tearers army! (Here is the old one in case anyone is interested.) This time without Death masks. While the masks look cool, they are not really worth the points IMHO... http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB10.jpg The unit http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB02.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB03.jpg A guard. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB04.jpg Another guard. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB05.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB06.jpg Yet another. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB07.jpg And one with a Glaive encarmine that actually is a glaive. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB08.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/SangB09.jpg And finally a "Flesh tearer" (counts as power fist). What do you think? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230506-more-sanguinary-guard/ Share on other sites

SunThirster
These are awesome, very dark and gritty which is how flesh tearers look best in my humble opinion. Great work on the blades aswell, you pulled off the power weapon effect very nicely. Firepower
Excellent job on these guys. The subtle serration of the Glaives earned a gleefully sadistic giggle from me in particular . The one thing which seems a bit off is the 'power fist.' Not in terms of conversions, I think it's an awesome stand-in. It just doesn't seem to pop or stand out from the armor at all as it's colored now. Perhaps it may look better powered up to a doomy blue glow like all the swords? Mortarion
Thank you! @Firepower: I agree that the fist does not pop the way that the power weapons do. But i wanted to give it a more brutal feel. Like it's not some fancy hightech powered weapon but rather a really sharp buzzsaw. But the design tends to look better in normal units. When all the other members of the unit have more flashy weapons it gets a little too dulled down. WingsOfTheFalcon
Mate, that power fist is genius and so appropriate for the army. Not to mention that fact that the models are excellently painted, I actually much prefer them to the GW studio SG. Kudos! Tellos05
Its like you plucked the images from my head! This is exactly how i picture flesh tearers! Fantastic free hand job on the chapter symbol and the serrated power weapons is a stroke of genius! How did you do that fantastic buzz saw? tiny sam
I have to aggreed with Firepower, the flesh tearer would look better in blue (a spinning power weapon!!) good work on those SG, they look so better than the Blood Angels' golden one Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230506-more-sanguinary-guard/#findComment-2771544 Share on other sites
One-eye
I like a lot your count-as-powerfist idea. Fits so well the army theme ! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230506-more-sanguinary-guard/#findComment-2771559 Share on other sites
Olis
Liking the serrated edges to the power weapons. Very in keeping with the style. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230506-more-sanguinary-guard/#findComment-2771687 Share on other sites

Mortarion
Thanks! ;) @Tellos05: The buzz saw blade is just at piece of plasticard cut into shape. Unfortunately, it's quite hard to get it right. Even after making quite a few of them for the army over the years it still takes some tries for each one the get the "teeth" even and about the same size all over the saw. The arm holding it is a normal bolt pistol arm with a piece of an arm from a thunder hammer terminator attached to it. The motor powering the saw is half a bolt pistol.
