Sword and Halberds, liking the models or not

Hello

THis will not be about what is BEST to equip your models with, but what LOOKS best. I for example hate hate the halberds, however i want to equip my Terminators with them from a rules point of view. Halberds looks so boring and not Heroic at all, I am thinkg about take falchions and put them on the halberd poles to make them bigger, see if that will make it better. Does anyone have any model idea how you can represent halberds in a diffrent way? Axes? Use swords and claim count as?

Model wise i like the swords best, falcions too, and I will most liekly have swords on my palas to keep them alive more.

I actually love the halberd models, but I like polearms in general. :D I think they're a signature weapon for Grey Knights, as most other armies have swords and/or axes already.

But if you don't like the halbard, may I point you to the most badass of all the polearms:

Scythes.

Personally, I prefer the look of halberds on Terminators, but not on PAGK. On Terminators some have them held in both hands, like ready to strike, but some in one hand, in poses suggesting them spinning them around and all that. I quite think the swords look a bit bland.

On PAGK though I think the swords look better, the halberds are look the same to me.

I quite like falchions on PAGK, looks impressive and deadly if done right.

What a Terminator calls a Nemesis Force Sword, my Codex Brother Captains call a Relic Blade.

I have no issue with any of the new weapon designs. The halberds are awesome and are shared amongst every Marine army I have now as the default power weapon.

Consider that stolen. Cheers.

If we're gonna go into thematics, I'd argue that the hammer is more representative of the chapter and the ordos on the whole. But really it doesn't matter which weapon is more thematic because a Grey Knights will knock the cuss out of whoever with whatever he's given.

EDIT - If anything, the polearm (glaive, halberd, spear or otherwise) is the signature weapon of a Custodian! :)

To be totally honest.... with the quality and detail in these new plastic GK's, I don't think there is a bland or boring option on those sprues. Every weapon can be posed and built to look incredibly dynamic and 'heroic' with enough creativity! SOOO much better than the old metal GK that looked all dainty and like they were skipping along on the battlefield!

To answer the question at hand, I think the halberds look the most dynamic and menacing of the bunch. There's something about knowing an attacker would be struck dead before their close combat weapon was even in striking range that makes the halberds that much more bad-azz! The falchions look stellar as well... cause the Master Chief showed us all that dual wielding something instantly jacks the coolness factor to 11.
