Inaspin
Quick question, cos I just started using the Librarian... According to the rule book a force weapon grants an additional psy power. Am I interpreting it correctley: you could power up the Librarian to strength 10 in the shooting phase and then kill the opponent outright with a sucessful force weapon psy check in the turn's assualt phase. On the same subject...are monstrous creatures able to use 2 psy powers each turn cos they can shoot twice? Red Fury
No. and No. The "additional power" is the ability to use a psychic ability to insta-kill a multi-wound opponent. A standard Librarian that is allotted just 1 power per turn cannot use Sang Sword and then use the Force Sword ability in the same turn. If you had the epistolary upgrade, then you could. The MC rules grant no additional psychic abilities. Although some psychic powers are shooting powers they are not the same as firing a weapon. Psychic power =/= weapon. And in all fairness, you usually don't need sword and weapons power to instakill most things. The S10 is usually enough. Against needs I usually feel frisky and rely on a 5+ F.C wound followed by the forceweapon zap. vharing
The only MC that I know of that can use two powers a turn is the Swarmlord and it states in his rules that he can use two. Demoulius
the only MC's that arent immume to instant death but are higher then T5 are tyranid monstrous creatures and the wraith lord IIRC (dont know what the DE MC is for tougness and special rules...) and those tend to have the shadow of the warp/eldar special rule tallying around with them (as in psychic tests on 3D6's if your higher then 11 (or 12, not sure) on the dice you suffer perils...) other things like deamons are immume to it or wraithlords are T8 so youd need either furios charge or a higher strength (as in S10 from sanguine sword) in order to be able to hurt them to begin with (in which case again...you can only use the "zap" if your an epistolary....) and in those cases its wiser to use the reroll from UR to begin with as the odds of that working are higher still (and benefit the unit as well :cuss ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230583-the-force/#findComment-2770866 Share on other sites

Eeeem. A dread knight can also be instagibbed like this. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230583-the-force/#findComment-2770911 Share on other sites

Demon Princes with Mark of Tzeentch can. Lets try to keep the questions BA related, or we can move this thread somewhere else on the board.
