puck
How would you/have you depicted Artificier Armor on a captain or chaptermaster when most of their armor is covered by robes? To me its pretty much a given that anyone at that level of command is a member of the inner circle and thus would display such membership in the form of a robe or tabard. As such most of the large surfaces of the armor are covered making freehanding more impossible than usual and the same goes for green stuff. Not much you can do with a forearm, a boot, and some hands. How do I display my captain's proud origin while making it obvious (at least to me) that he's in different armor than the battle brothers he commands? The_son_of_Dorn
Give them a chest plate over the robe like (First post scroll down abit) http://cincycag.forumotion.com/t4565-astra...on-librarian-fw Then plaster it in heraldry  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230626-artificer-armor-on-a-captain/#findComment-2771423 Share on other sites
Brother Styphus
You don't have to give the model a robe if it is going to cause you issues with WYSIWYG. Just make the model and see what you can accomplish, and then if you have room just add a GS cloak or hood. Jimmy Carmine
Use a fancy old mark of helmet and shoulders to suggest the armour under the robes is fancier than you would first imagine. Grand Master Belial
You can also use the Inspiration of the old Dark Millennium artwork that showed a captain with a mixture of Green and White armor with gold scenes emblazoned on them. I think someone recently did a copy miniature for their Belial Conversion Showcase. You could do the same on those areas outside the robe being give some freehand gold paintings. Kotobuki
Especially if there's robes involved, my suggestion for it would be to use some gold trim on the armor. And only use gold trim for guys in artificer. Then you can say "anyone with gold trimmed armor is equipped with artificer armor". Quick and simple, should stand out well, and I would think would work well with any color schemes used in your force. ilnar
Exactly the same as grenades, artifice doesn't have to be represented, Make sure it's on your army list when you play and you won't have a problem Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230626-artificer-armor-on-a-captain/#findComment-2773927 Share on other sites
skink
Does the mini have a helmet? You could add some wings in there (like the Lion Helm, or the kitbashed Company Master in the dex); shows it to be more ornate than 'normal' armour perhaps? I like the idea of bone white power armour too; the linked photo is brilliant, as were... VanSan's...? efforts. There was an Ezekiel that blew my mind. Brother Immolator
Quite late on this but i use a quite different method.I paint the edges of the excoust pipes in the pack and the battary(?the square on the top of the backpack that has the holes)area in gold to make my veteran marines and hqs stand out.
