Interceptors Concept.

I have been looking around and found some great resin bases with pentagrams etched into the stone. I am thinking of getting these bases for use as "Interceptors". The Ruins would be painted in Bright (Im not sure Blue for energy, or red and flaming) and would be MUCH different then the normal bases. Its either that of model in green stuff a portal of some kind.

My questions are...

1) Would you be ok with this on a personal LGS level?

2) Does anyone know if this would be "Officially" acceptable at GW games?

3) You thoughts on the idea as a whole?

I would be totally fine with this myself specially sicne i think the idea is rather cool.

As for official tourneys I have no idea but since the models will be official and only the base from somewhere else i can't see why it should be a problem. But i'm sadly no expert in the area of official tourneys.

I also agree that if you hate the backpack prongs and just use intricate basing to indicate some teleportation-shenanigans you've satisfied the WYSIWYG situation most tourneys roll by.

Heck, some places would let you use GKSS models without any special preparation as long as you're clear with your opponent about what they are. Your mileage may vary, but snazzy bases should cover you for most occasions.

I'd be fine with it personally. I heard somewhere else that someone was using jump packs instead of teleporter backpacks for their Interceptors, that idea sounds good to be as well. Jump packs for the 12" movement, and their shunt move is actually an advanced Gate of Infinity power that is more powerful, and as such can only be used in a game as you need to "recharge".

Yeah, the bases should be more than fine for LGS. Tourneys it might be questionable, so best to check with each TO.

I also like the jump pack idea that DarkGuard mentioned (I saw it too.) They move as jump infantry, and it could be said that the GK jump packs have the ability to "overcharge" (can't think of a better word at the moment) to be able to move much further more quickly than normal, but its a risky tactic or the jump packs have a limited amount of fuel and so can only be done once.
