Falchions resolved by June White Dwarf

Aye, and 2 lines later they give falchions a 2+ invulnerable save... So much for rules clarity in WD. :)

But yeah, I think Falchions are probably about 90% certainty going for +1 attack if the final FAQ does come out (all hints have pointed in that direction at least). Which is somewhat sad, as it makes 'em about as useful as Psilencers. :/

Falcons are +2 attacks. Its quiet clear in the rules and from what i have been hearing i have yet to find a reliable source which says its to be +1. And anyway falcons are still trash if they are +2. If they were +3 i might consider it but 1+ or 2+ no way! Must prefer my halberds

I've already stated all this in the consolidated FAQ thread, but hey it bears repeating:

"...which you can then allocate to the Grey Knight with falchions, who has a 2+ invulnerable save."

It's in the paragraph immediately following the one that "clarifies" for +1A.

In other words, both are complete bunk and can't be trusted until an official line comes out in an errata or FAQ. Nothings been resolved yet.

For now though, I'll gladly take them for +1A and a 2+ invulnerable save (not even just in close combat). Certainly makes warding staves look like a waste of time ^_^.

I seriously doubt falchions will grant +1 A 2++. That is beyond broken. I can see the +2 A because of RAW, but geebus 2++ on GK's in HtH? You've got to be joking. With that logic the Great Sword on the DreadKnight should grant 4++...

Someone took the joke post seriously...

It may be your copy of the White Dwarf. Mine specifically identifies the warding stave who gets the 2+ invulnerable.

Given that the article writer is Mat Ward, writer of the Codex, I think that +1 attacks for falchions is confirmed.

I was simply commenting that it would be mad to allow that. Not that I took it seriously. do i need to end all my posts with a smiley face or something?

:)

there ya go... lol

Much to my dismay, deadpan humor really doesn't work so well over the internet.

Well.... Hear me out on this!

We all know a Nemesis Force Sword gives a +1 to Invulnerable Saves in CC.

What if, as suggested, the +1A for using a Pair of Falcions in the Dex is actually the same +1A for using two weapons.

But...

As 'Falcions' are a type of 'Sword', and you're using *two* of them, they both give you a +1 to your Invulnerable save in CC?

So a GKGM with an Iron Halo and a Pair of Falcions would have +1A for using two special CCWs, and also have a 2++ save in Close Combat?

:tu:

(j/k)

Personally, I wouldn't give the article any credence what so ever. Just like not using your Force Wepaon when facing a nid MC becuse you used Hammerhand to Wound. Or the other guff about Crowe.

Where's our FAQ already?

Let us all be honest here however.

Even if the article was perfect queens english with not a single erroneous rule or error, If it was done by matt ward then he will retcon everything he ever wrote.

I believe the reason for that is that matt ward's literature is unique in that he produces it by eating several dozen cans of alphabet spaghetti and diarrheaing out whole sentences.

Thus he can never produce the same work again and must retcon.

I like your ideas, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter. ;)

hey If falchions counted as[as in for rules] 2 nemezis force swords and gave a cumulative +1to inv save bonus each [droping a iron halo dude to +2inv] , many people could live with the fact that they are +1A only .

But lols aside , WD since they removed Q&A is not a good source for rules . Anyone who remember the 3 different versions of BA dex will know why.
