Egypt/Tomb king themed Thousand Sons

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've finally taken the plunge and started an egyptian/tomb kings themed thousand sons army and I spend last night chopping up chaos termies. I plan on using the GK codex with this army to represent a sorcerer's coven.

I've only got the first 2 done so far but I'll post more pics as they get built.

This guy is the squad leader of my Rubric Knights

This guy is, quite obviously my banner bearer.

C&C welcome,

Cheers

I'm just about ready to start painting but I can't decide on a colour scheme. I was considering having the standard troops in blue and gold and the officers/squad leaders in red and bone but I think it may look weird on the table top. What do you think peeps?

This may be weird but who cares? If that is what you want go for it.

My suggestion is blue(main) and gold(trim) for the normies and gold(main) and blue(trim) for the VIPs. The color scheme will still be together but you can easily tell who is more important. If you don't like that use different shades for each.

Finished painting the squad leader of my termies.

My painting aint the best but it works for a table top quality.

Just thought I would chime in with some thoughts, as I've thought about doing a Thousand Sons-themed GK army too.

I feel the Tomb Kings aspect of the miniatures has been a little over-done. She shield on the shoulder pad and the TL Bolters on the arm just look... tacked on and don't really fit.

Just my 2c.

I absolutely love the idea. I'd thought of doing the same thing when the current codex csm first came out but then life & an ex-wife happened lol. I was also going to run a traitor IG co based on casualties of a war on a desert world. As far as the TL bolter & shield & whatnot, yes they do look tacked on, but that is easily fixed w/ just a little GS work to add mounting straps to them & blend them onto the armor.
