12,000 point mega battle-

In our never ending effort to make 40K a fun game we decided to throw the force org chart to the wind

 

We did a team battle with 6K per side, our team had 2 players and the other had 3.

 

It was tau and my panzer birgade VS orks, IG, and chaos.

 

FW units were allowed as were apocalypse reserve rules. but no apocalypse style templates or weapon stats(no D strength etc...IE turbo lasers are a S9 AP2 small blast as per normal games).

 

We rolled up 4 objectives and dawn of war.

i think the set up hurt us more than most with a green tide of 100 boys with 15 power claws setting up 24" onto the table. i managed to throw some dreads at it and hold it back(incredible luck for my ironclads and bad dice rolls for the orks) until a couple lucky hits let them break through. the real high point in that battle was lord karamozov dropping 3 templated onto the ironclad int he middle fo the ork mob and killin 24 boys in a single go.

 

At the end of the game we epicly contested 4 of the 4 objectives, trying in vain to kick a single warboss offf our left flank objective and a deff dread off the right.

it wold have won us the game but we only managed to take the WB down to a single wound and ripp everything off the dredd but not kill it.

 

The final tally 1 objective held, 3 contested. a well deserved victory to the other team.
