nurglez
true, but when you have a shiny cool looking thing, you think it can do everything at once :D I use my dk as anti horde/infantry at range, and try and go for vehicles or to bog down enemy units in close combat. Providing cover to my units and causing a distraction are great too (oh no you killed my 260 point dreadknight, lucky for me thats the cheapest unit in my 1500 point force :( ). Crynn
In all these stats that have been thrown around people are forgetting that a dreadnaught is very capable of getting cover which only adds to how tough they can be, especially a Ven dread. I am not saying that DKs are bad or can never be competitive however I have been running a ven dreadnaught in my current list and it is just impossible to destroy. Very circumstacial numbers but take a look My ven dread walk behind termies and a lib with shrouding. It therefore takes 84 YES 84!! BS 4 lascannons to bring down my dread on average. Where as that many lascannons on average would bring down 7.7 DKs, not do 7.7 wounds, actually kill 7.7 of them. My point, you need to look at cover saves a little when comparing the two. Godhead
I have been using two NDK's supported by a 10 man squad of interceptors recently, and I must say I love them. I equip them with teleporters and heavy incinerators and shunt them in my opponents face. The dreadknights aren't invincible but holy crap, they absorb a crap load of fire power. While everyone has been trying to kill them my interceptors have been in the backfield wrecking havoc. Now I just need to figure out how to fit a stormraven in my list to carry my libby so I can drop down and warp rift some tanks and I'll be set. Why not try mordock and his ghost knights to get your libby where you want turn 1? remember he and his ghost knights dep strike turn 1 with no scatter, ive used it to horriffic effect before... Godhead
I have used Mordrak to do just that, but he is terribly expensive and I think I would probably prefer Coteaz and a Libby instead of Mordrak and a Libby. Coteaz and a 10 man strike squad makes my back field lines very hard to penetrate. I'm obviously still play testing to find my sweet spot composition.
