Iron_Adam
With GW's release of finecast mini's which for all their glory are still copies of models thst already exist; couldn't this have been GW's chance for a big release of primarchs or other pre heresy characters. Now that the precision of detail is 'phenomenal' how long do we have to wait! Also why is this hard to do, there are already a bunch of knock offs flying around, why nit undercut them? Custodian Athiair
i doubt they'll ever do something like that to be honest. because it isn't part of the actual franchise. because we're technically meant to be playing in the 41st millenium not the 31st. i think though if they ever did it. it will be at the end of the Horus Heresy novel series - when that is finished. or on 40k's 100th birthday or something just a couple of point. but imo it will never happen. it's a shame because they could easily charge £20-£30 for them and i'm sure people would snap them up! Doghouse
I think if anyone was to release them it'd be Forge World but to be honest the finecast material would be awesome for them. FW have expressed an interest in covering the Heresy and have been releasing stuff under the radar for a while now with the likes of the Mk IIB land raider and the more recent armour marks. There's also been talk of pre-heresy terminators and proper pre-heresy dreadnoughts so you never know. I shouldn't think it'd be for a while though if they ever did, the Heresy is a very lucrative franchise as the BL releases have shown but as to whether GW would let FW get their hands on it I can't really say as it is a major part of the 40k mythography. Torvak Kyre
Yeah I think it would be a great idea for forge world to make Primarchs. Before I saw this post I sent a letter to GW Headquarters asking why they don't do Primarch models especially with the release of Finecast though I'm still waiting for a reply. Blood Angel Scout
I can remember the primarch models from first/rogue trader era, albeit only Russ with a wolf pack on leashes and a model of Dorn, and often wondered why GW never made models of all the primarchs or the Emp as collectors pieces, as would be too powerful for table top. However, as I type this, can also remember Epic having rules/models for daemon primarchs which leads me to ask, why are'nt there models and rules for the remaining chaos primarchs as they must be equivelent to daemon princes i.e. keeper of secrets(?, might be wrong on this one, slannesh god i think), lord of change etc, combined with the fact there are grey knights who carve names into these primarch hearts (still can't get my head round that one) to balance out superstrength rules set Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230908-finecast-minis/#findComment-2782023 Share on other sites

One thing GW has said is that they wouldn't do Primarch minis for 40k. Outside of the EPIC game the only time they made a Primarch (prior to them saying they wouldn't) was Leman Russ back in 91. http://www.solegends.com/citcat911/c2006smcommanders-h.htm Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230908-finecast-minis/#findComment-2782125 Share on other sites

Atlas VOTE
I'm surprised they didn't release some form of "veteran" heresy/pre-heresy armored marines. GW has a bit of a tendency to see what works with forgeworld (thunderhawk, some tau units) and then release them as GW minis for way cheaper. So i agree with one of the earlier posters that we are supposed to be playing in the 41st BUT they could have release say a captain/sergeant or something that had heresy era armor, or a veteran squad for a chapter (bt, angels, or even GK) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230908-finecast-minis/#findComment-2784029 Share on other sites
Cpt_Reaper
There are apoc rules for Angron, as well as a image of his face. Official rules at that. I guess one could modify them? GW undercut another company? More like sell them for 50% more. When I last ordered something from Forge World they asked me what models I would most like to see. Pre and post-heresy Primarchs was a fairly easy answer to that question. PS - I have that Leman Russ model at home somewhere. It's tiny. Looks like a Primarch of the Hobbit Legion. Lawgiver 67
If you're interested in "primarch" type models, check out www.sciborminiatures.com. He has several pieces that could be tweaked with minimal work to represent a primarch. Iron_Adam
I bought a custodes look alike from scibor, and was very disapointed, the models dimensions are all messed up, looks more like a spawn action figure than anything close to warhammer 40k, not that it's supposed to lol. Stick to eBay, it's completely illegal but I just want it for me, I'm not doing this for any other reason Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230908-finecast-minis/#findComment-2788433 Share on other sites
