spu00sed
Played a game today with my Knights against marines. My grand master decided to use Hammer of Righteousness, rather than counter attack, just to see what would happen. I had two reasons. Firstly to see if it was any good, secondly when I fail a roll it is normally on a 1. I tabled my opponent, but It got me thinking about how good it actually is. So I have put the numbers in excel and here are the outcomes Hitting on 3+ Wounding on 2+ Normal – 55.6% Righteousness – 64.8% Wounding on 3+ Normal – 44.4% Righteousness – 51.9% Wounding on 4+ Normal – 33.3% Righteousness – 38.9% Wounding on 5+ Normal – 22.2% Righteousness – 25.9% Wounding on 6+ Normal – 11.1% Righteousness – 13.0% Hitting on 4+ Wounding on 2+ Normal – 41.7% Righteousness – 48.6% Wounding on 3+ Normal – 33.3% Righteousness – 38.9% Wounding on 4+ Normal – 25.0% Righteousness – 29.2% Wounding on 5+ Normal – 16.7% Righteousness – 19.4% Wounding on 6+ Normal – 8.3% Righteousness – 9.7% Hitting on 5+ Wounding on 2+ Normal – 27.8% Righteousness – 32.4% Wounding on 3+ Normal – 22.2% Righteousness – 25.9% Wounding on 4+ Normal – 16.7% Righteousness – 19.4% Wounding on 5+ Normal – 11.1% Righteousness – 13.0% Wounding on 6+ Normal – 5.6% Righteousness – 6.5% What I like is when it is combined with psybolts/hammerhand. On a 3+ to hit Righteousness increases the chance to wound by 5.6% psybolts increases the chance to wound by 11.1% Together they increases the chance to wound by 18.5% On a 4+ to hit Righteousness increases the chance to wound by 4.2% psybolts increases the chance to wound by 8.3% Together they increases the chance to wound by 13.9% Now marines only hit on 4+ in combat, so this last example only happnes in combat, where the enemy armour is ignored, so combined they increase your kills by 13.9% Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230929-hammer-of-righteousness/ Share on other sites
Cmdr Shepard
In my personal experience Hammer of righteousness is the best option Grand Strategy can offer, unless you need more scoring units.
