CosmicCreations
After re-kindling my love of the DoW II games, I decided to paint up a Space Marine due to boredom of not being in college. I liked the rough look of the Marines in the game so I wanted to sort of subtley copy this onto my mini... http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Space%20Marines/Photo3420.jpg http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/oo11/Cosmic_Castaway2157/Space%20Marines/Photo3426.jpg As usual he's not finished yet, but it should give you some idea of where I'm going. C&C appreciated. Cosmic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230973-blood-ravens-marine/ Share on other sites

DapperDave
Nice work! Maybe just a little too much blue in that red - but it could be the lighting or my monitor. The tan / white is shaded very nicely and I think that's just the right amount of battle damage. Ah well start work on the urge! :P Cheers Pulse. @DapperDave- It might be the photos actually, but there isn't any blue in there. It's just Blood Red with a tiny amount of Badab Black, and a Baal Red wash. maverike_prime
nicely done. The only thing I would say is you need to finish the base. The large area of white affects how the rest of the colors are seen so the maroon looks brighter then it would other wise. Finish the base and paint the sword and I think it'll darken the tone of the model a good amount and bring it more into spectrum with what you going for. For a table-top standard I'm very happy with him. I'll try and get some better pictures tomorrow, new background etc. Comments and Critiscisms are much appreciated :) Cosmic Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/230973-blood-ravens-marine/#findComment-2777508 Share on other sites

Olis
Geez - that's tabletop standard? Now I just wanna see more. Very nicely done, brother. :D That skull on his helmet, btw, looks a little... undefined. Like it's seen one layer of paint too many. That's the one flaw I could find. Is that due to paint, or just the photo playing tricks?
