RedemptionNL
Yes, the psilencer has a greater range than the psycannon. No it doesn't! :P Heck, without the ability to move and shoot on PA models, you could even say it has a shorter range. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231005-striker-squad-psilencer-vs-storm-bolter/page/2/#findComment-2779393 Share on other sites

Nian
I love the gatling psilencer on big daddy though. What's his reload time like, do you have to wait till the morning? Lols As for the psilencer, isn't it time we voices our complaints towards games workshop? Maybe get it buffed to heavy 8 and heavy 16 respectively? number6
Yes, the psilencer has a greater range than the psycannon. No it doesn't! :P Heck, without the ability to move and shoot on PA models, you could even say it has a shorter range. :) *facepalm* You have no idea how many times I keep assuming its range is 36". :) I keep thinking, "Heavy weapon, got a longer range...." :( That's the real nail in the coffin right there, isn't it? It can't even outrange its nearest competitor, the psycannon. Ugh. There are a few oddities in the GK codex, but I simply cannot fathom the intentional FAIL designed into this weapon option. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231005-striker-squad-psilencer-vs-storm-bolter/page/2/#findComment-2779662 Share on other sites
Inquisitor Fox
I have to agree.. if it either was A ) 36" or B ) an assault weapon... it'd be fine. The lack of both make it gimped by comparison to psycannons unless you face a lot of people running 666, 777, or 888 point Forgeworld daemons :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231005-striker-squad-psilencer-vs-storm-bolter/page/2/#findComment-2779668 Share on other sites

The BA have that Magna Grapple thing for example. So we'll just have to wait 3/4 years to see it get redone. 2) The thing doesn't need a ROF boost generally that was meant to be its selling point also the IG can have a Russ that can do 20 S5 shots and that isn't too popular as i understand it. The problem is that it's rival the psycannon is just so much better - its stronger, punches through anything thats sub MEQ, is anti tank, and can be shot and moved and when standing still can lay down serious amounts of fire power. For a weapon to be effective it needs to fill a tactical niche, and the psilencers tactical niche is too ... niche is that it hurts daemons. As i see it, it could have a bigger following with it being 36" giving the GK something that fits between Psylfeman and everything else. But i think it would be nice to change the deamon rule and just have it ignore inv saves making it still highly anti daemon but also means its a viable choice against other armies espeically the eldar and TH/SS termies. Daedalus Templarius
I put the Psilencer model on one of my new Paladins, but I fully intend to run it as a Psycannon... but it just looks so cool! I also might put the heavy psylincer on my new Dreadknight, but run it as a incinerator, because it also looks awesome. I also might put the heavy psylincer on my new Dreadknight, but run it as a incinerator, because it also looks awesome. This. The ONLY reason I even clipped the psilencers off the sprues was simply because they look fantastic! In my armies they'll simply represent psycannons.... or MC'd Psycannons if need be. Either way, the rules make it useless, but the model is too good to leave behind! DarkGuard
i can't beleive i never noticed that the psilencer was a heavy weapon :) Yeah, I'm with you on this one, I'll join in :P. Disregard everything I've said, as on Terminators I'd rate the psycannon higher, despite having less shots. Take psycannons :woot:.
