Crusader of Dorn
From my search for a badab war chapter i chose the utterly awesome Executioners, kindred spirts of the space wolves, sons of dorn, bane of the carcharadons. Decided to go "truescale" and here is what i've got o work with - http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n562/willmac81/SDC12582.jpg Veteran Sgt. http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n562/willmac81/SDC12583.jpg Support gunner. http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n562/willmac81/SDC12584.jpg Axe brother looking to take some heads. http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n562/willmac81/SDC12585.jpg Flamer http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n562/willmac81/SDC12586.jpg Axe Brother Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231088-ts-executioners/ Share on other sites

Doghouse
Very nice stuff and great choice of chapter to base the army on. The Huron head looks great on one of these, I'll be watching with great interest. <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231088-ts-executioners/#findComment-2778864 Share on other sites
subtlebrush
Ah yes a man after my own crazy line of modeling. Your guys are looking good. Loving the head on the missle launcher dude. Wheres it from? Crusader of Dorn
Thanks, I'll be removing the termie insignia and filling out the abdomen areas once i've cleaned up the bitz. Not sure about the legs though as i'm using PA arms and if the legs look too thick in comparison i wouldnt be happy. The armour isnt supposed to be ant indentifiable mark, aslong as the results look clean then all is good. and the way i see it, Huron owes us his head  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231088-ts-executioners/#findComment-2778903 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
looking great so far, looking at the pics, I cant tell if you've put a spacer between the torso bits, but if not I recommend trying it, as it gives a really beefy profile, in regards to PA arms looking a little small, Lamenter has an AWESOME tutorial over at his site masteroftheforge.com, it's in the Tutorial Posts link. Crusader of Dorn
Nice one, i'll look into it.Not being that confident with GS, i've bitten the bullet aywayshttp://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n562/willmac81/SDC12554.jpglooks rough but shows the direction i'm taking, i'll need to blend the torso components. Slyfox1990
I think the GS looks a lot better. You've used it to bulk out the lower torso a little by the looks of things and I think that really helps with making sure the proportion are right. Crusader of Dorn
Its a bugger waiting for it to set though. I expect i'll need to do some sanding/filing/scraping once its ready. Crusader of Dorn
UpdateThe torsos on all 5 marines are pretty much done, just some smoothing out and adjustments left.Started painting the heads while waiting for GS to set. (see sgt)I'm running out of GS so legs may have to be left as they are because i'm over budget Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231088-ts-executioners/#findComment-2779941 Share on other sites
Crusader of Dorn
Another update, decided to bulk the thighs out alittle with my dwindling GS stock. The lower legs will have to remain termie looing though.http://i1140.photobucket.com/albums/n562/willmac81/SDC12581.jpgsome smoothing out is in order, i think.Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231088-ts-executioners/#findComment-2780704 Share on other sites
Brother of the Temple
I think the legs look better filled in. I think you'll be happier with that look. Are you going to "true" scale rhinos also? Crusader of Dorn
Updated 1st post. Tell me what you think :tu: These guys obviously arent true truescale, i'm just looking for bulky looking marines. So veichles wont be upscaled. Doghouse
That confused the heck out of me mate! ;) Very nice work! Be great to see some paint on them. :tu: edit: Forgot to say mate, the key to the legs is to bulk up the inner thigh and leave the over side of the leg as you have it now. It lessens the wide leg syndrome that marine models suffer from and makes them a little more proportionate. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231088-ts-executioners/#findComment-2781104 Share on other sites
Crusader of Dorn
yea i'm abit confused aswell. must be from ingesting all the plastic dust and GS lol. popkhorne
eh why do true scale? its not worth it! nice models anyway and the executioners are cool keep it up! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231088-ts-executioners/#findComment-2781503 Share on other sites
Crusader of Dorn
eh why do true scale? its not worth it! nice models anyway and the executioners are cool keep it up! They look much more impressive than standard marines, i think. Very much a rich mans hobby. The main problem i have is converting the arms. Lord Ragnarok
Lovely converting and excellent choice in chapter. What is your recipe for the sergeants helm? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231088-ts-executioners/#findComment-2781765 Share on other sites
Crusader of Dorn
cheers, the helm colour was an experiment, basically shining gold washed with brown and yellow ink. The muzzle part is done in brazen brass with broze highlight. I really want to start painting these guys but i have abit of tidying up to do first. Tellos05
Looking good so far! Are you going to paint them the traditional camo colour scheme or the new IA scheme? Crusader of Dorn
The IA scheme suits them better with the expanded fluff, looks more intimidating aswell. I'm thinking boltgun metal washed with successive layers of black, blue and purple washes then highlighted with boltgun/chainmail and given a final wash.
