Couldn't wait to get cas so I butchered up some old minis that were horrible. Legs from SM termy, axes from the fantasy chaos knights as well as the head, chest is a cut up CSM one, chain skirt is from the same sprue. I hate the wing selection from GW, I just think they're overly bulky for a relatively small lord/daemon prince. What I'm trying to do is make them look like Marcus' wings from the second Underworld movie (Kate Beckinsale is SO SEXY). If you can remember they could be used as weapons to impale unlucky victims, when he did this there wasn't a complete membrane for the wing and they were just things that looked much like a tryanid lictor's stabby thingys. Here's what I got: Started off drilling a hole through the backpack to put wire in it, sculpted the initial segment of the wing in that then let it harden. I have no idea how to do this. This is my first GS sculpt attempt and I could use a LOT of help with how to achieve a membrane and really any other tips for GS. It would be greatly appreciated. All in all I know that these skinny wingys may look awkward on a bulky model and that they look very tyrannidy, but I wanted to give it a shot anyways as an alternate wing to what GW supplied. I am just starting to use greenstuff too, going to make a first attempt at this weekend! Anyways I like your idea about Marcus's wings, I might have to steal it...... Did you ever think of using the nid lictor's claws? I am building a new DP as well and I'd like to do something out of the norm for it, those lictor claws would be awesome but I don't think they'd be big enough for a DP. Anyways post some pics when you're done and let us know how it goes! I actually never did, mainly because I'm on a tight budget and trying to make do with what I have. However if I did have heaps and heaps of cash I still don't think I would use the lictor's slicing thingys because I think people would think "why are there tyranid apendages on that chaos marine.." rather than "wow, cool daemon wings." They also seem to be a little too thick for my liking, and the way I did it gave me more freedom for wing position as well. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
