Stolid Fox
Hey guys, I picked up 2 bottles of brush on super glue for some tighter control of where I'm putting it on some new models. Unfortunately I've ruined both brushes inside less than a week and they've turned absolutely rock hard and useless. I'd rather avoid buying more glue, I've got plenty, but I'd like to pick up/make some new brushes. Googling around has not been helpful, but trying a trash brush I had caused it to immediately sieze up rock hard. Can anyone tell me what kind of brush these are so I can make/grab some more? Thanks! Master of fact
Not sure on where you can get the brush but try dunking the brush in nail varnish remover. Should free up the bristles. Tanhausen
I've also had this problem in my last superglue batches... not much you can do besides trying the acetone solution or literally baging the brush with a hammer to break it up. Sucks :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231198-super-glue-brushes/#findComment-2780466 Share on other sites
winterdyne
I almost always apply superglue with a cocktail stick. Sand it flat and put a split in it to act as a nib if you prefer it that way. When it gets ruined, just make a new one. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231198-super-glue-brushes/#findComment-2781834 Share on other sites
miniaturepainter
There are super glues that come via syringe or by needle application, the most famous needle applicators are available from testors... I think, you can also pick up needles on the interwebs for replacements or like this old citadel super glue, I use a needle for applications. http://s.ecrater.com/stores/211760/4de1adcb61ff8_211760b.jpg The brush always seems to fail, no matter what. ZombyWoof
Try Super Glue Gel. It might come out a bit thicker than you want sometimes, so have some toothpicks handy to help with application. Wayyyyy more easier to work with than liquid. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231198-super-glue-brushes/#findComment-2786061 Share on other sites
