Dexo
Will it be "unfluffy" to include Scouts in a Bjorn army or Landraiders/vindicators in a Erik army ? clanfield
not at all i would build a balanced force first then add a few more flavord units to represent the company you have picked, and you cannt go wrong with 2 packs of grey hunters and a rune priest :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231202-i-cant-make-up-my-mind-help/#findComment-2780614 Share on other sites
Wulfebane
The popular assumption these days regarding Great Companies is that they boast anywhere from 100-200 Space Wolves. It takes a very dedicated player to even attempt to come close to placing that many models on the table top, and the ones that do are ingrained in the game long enough to have their answers sorted and have built the army over years, so there's no rush to hit the mark with your first purchases, if that's the case. Each Great Company generally has the full spectrum of a Space Wolf army options, be it land raiders or jump packs or scout squads, just that their particular Wolf Lords prefer specialization which require more of X, Y, and Z versus another Lord. That said, I agree with clanfield in that you should build a balanced army first and worry about *building the fluff later. You can keep it in the front of your mind while customizing the models and paint scheme, etc, but it'll work itself out in due time. In a rough estimation though, whose to say what it means to have a scout-heavy or swiftclaw-heavy army? It's up for interpretation. It could mean 5 squads, it could mean 20, and no one can gainsay you otherwise because it's not etched in blood within the codex nor can it be anticipated within the fluidity of the 40k universe. LoneWulfen
Erik Morkai's company uses the most unusual in methodology. His company is stealth and covert ops experts. They deploy a lot of WOLF SCOUTS. Bjorn Stormwolf's company are primarily deployed as frontline assault troops. Favoring anything that makes a lot of noise. As a result the storwolf company deploys a lot of VINDICATORS, HEAVY WEAPONS, BIKES and OTHER WEAPONS and WARGEAR that can cause a lot of destruction and havoc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231202-i-cant-make-up-my-mind-help/#findComment-2781708 Share on other sites
