Son of Rawl
Hey all, in the Book timeline Ferrus Manus is officially dead at the hands of Fulgrim, he along with the every veteran in his legion which is a huge blow in itself. What I am wondering now is what did the ones who were left do, how did they move on without thier primarch and what challenges they had to rebuild their shattered legion, how do you think Manus's death would effect them considering the Sons of Horus were wrought with grief in seeing Horus wounded unto death. I would love to see a novel expanding this as the Iron Hands were the only legion to be without a Primarchs guidance when the heresy was in full swing, how about you. Legatus
Well, in their Index Astartes article the Iron Hands were described as not having a Chapter Master but instead a Chapter council, formed from representatives of each Clan Company. So presumeably when their Primarch was taken, they did not elect a new Legion commander and probably decided on establishing the council instead. IIRC the Codex Blood Angels mentions similar issues with the Blood Angels after Sanguinius' death. While they accepted a new Commander, for them this was also further reason to accept the Codex Astartes, so that they would have some focus. Billuriye
They've become bitter and even more mechanized due to desperation. I still wonder what is the point of being Iron Hand if you purge yourself from all the flesh. You just destroy the advantages of being Astartes and end up like a Mechanicus servant. Striking a balance between flesh and metal like their Primarch would be good. Iron Father Ferrum
Well, the Battle of Tallarn during the Heresy was the single largest tank-on-tank battle in the history of the Imperium, and was primarily Iron Hands versus Iron Warriors. That to me sounds like an awesome Iron Hands novel. The Iron Hand could have been a Salamander or a Blood Angel or a still loyal Death Guard as well. I was so dissappointed because I was so excited to read more about the IH too, but this was... well... OK, but nothing more. :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231214-iron-hands-after-the-death-of-manus/#findComment-2782951 Share on other sites
