GLD
Had this lying around for what seems like years - so finally decided to finish it by magnetising it and throwing down a lot of battle damage... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/GLD1/ironcladfront.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/GLD1/ironcladalternative.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/GLD1/ironcladback.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/GLD1/ironcladside.jpg I've put him up on eBay as I don't have a Fists army, so if you are interested you can get the auction number by clicking my sig and visiting the blog. DornsApothecary
He looks like he's been to hell and back with all that wear-and-tear... and then he realised he forgot his wallet so had to do the whole trip again. Really like the finish. Great effort! Such a shame you don't have an army of Fists to add him to!
The Neophyte of War
That is pretty bad ass. How long did it take you to paint him and how did you do the weathering? -NoW
GLD
Thanks for the comments - I painted him a while ago, but to give you an idea, it took me a couple of hours to get the hurricane bolters and chain fist done, so I'd say all in all paintning the big guy was about 8ish hours... I've got my yellow technique down pretty well at the moment... As for weathering, I wasn't sure how to go for it, but I fancied trying some pencil weathering, so picked up a 2B pencil and just drew in where I felt that the damage would be...turned out pretty good! As for weathering the fist icon, I just stippled the base colour over the black icon...I hope that helps ;)
Brother Styphus
Wow. I'm warning you in advance, I might send you a pm asking for weathering pointers in the upcoming future.
GLD
No problem - I'll probably look at doing a tutorial sometime soon as well
