Extra bits from the Grey Knight box

Recommended Posts

It's all GK-centric, so - much like BA or Ultramarine or whatever specific bits, I either file them off or give them to players that do have the armies. So, personally, I would not. However, that's not to say you can't. They're your marines. <3

I found that I have a bunch of "knight" style SM helmets and have some BK torsos, I was going to make them extra filler GKs. When I get

a chance I'll post photos..

Absolutely. Some of it obviously will be either be unuseable due to too much inquistition iconography, but others should be able to be filed off and the gk kit is an awesome source of power weapons(falchions) Relic blades in two forms(halberds and two handed swords), and has the warding stave, which you could use a librarian force weapon to make it stand out from the regular swords and axes. The heads also look awesome in my opinion, perfect for asault squads, bvanguard vets and hnour guards etc. I plan to buy a kit just for extra parts when I get the cash.
You could equip up a Vanguard or Sternguard squad as "Deathwatch" marines where the =][= iconography makes more sense.

I like this idea.

Also, perhaps I misunderstood. At first, Schnauzer, I interpreted your post to mean that you wanted to use spare GK bits for another army; now I think what you meant is that you want to use bits from your other marine army to augment your GK force. This I'm even more picky about, personally. Grey Knight armor doesn't (or at least, it didn't) have the giant aquilla on the front chestplate, for instance. Maybe the marine chest plate with the tiny skull with a lot of bits on it would do. Now, actually, I'm curious to try just that.

I was going to use the skull chest plate and BK torso-the ones that don't really show the cross(covered with cloak)..I think there is another one

that is plain without an eagle. Cover with purity seals and other bits should look ok.

No reason for GK to NOT have Aquila's on their chest plates - its teh very symbol of a loyalist marine. They should all, of course, have theire little black books with them somewhere, just in case they need to phone someone (the Ghostbusters??)

LOL, it's funny they have all sorts of books in the bits from the GK. Don't they think they would get damaged hanging off all sorts

of armour.

Certainly. I modeled some of my Black Templar's as Deathwatch vets and used some of the PA Grey Knight bits to embelish them. In fact, that's the reason I bought my PA and Terminator Grey Knight boxes.

I also decked out my Marshal with Grey Knight bits, Black Templar bits, and some third-party (Scibor) bits. Here they are.
