I need drones or small droids

Recommended Posts

I know this has been asked before, but "drone" is too wide of a term for a meaningful search.

I need two models that can stand in for Fenrisian Wolves (NOT Thunderwolves). I don't want them to be canine. I've explored saurian options, and it all turns out way too silly. So, I want two of something drone-like that looks like it is fast, and can kick moderate ass in close combat. Per fluff these are shield drones (which is why they take the first two wounds for the character they are attached to). The CAT from Space Hulk looks too slow and harmless. I've contemplating converting Tau drones, but can't think of a way to make them Imperial enough.

Recommendations, ideas or pictures would be much appreciated.

You could try strapping weapons to servo-skulls? That would look rather badass IMO. Or maybe convert some of the techmarine servitors? or even the techmarines themselves, replace the servo-arm "hands" with blades or something, and the body with something suitably expendable...
You said not canine but I'm not sure if you meant actual dogs or just appearance... Enforcers have robotic cyber-mastiffs... basically dog shaped robots which are designed to rush in and take down criminals and also have sensor arrays so they can track and so on. If those sound interesting look under specialist games on the GW site and then Necromunda.

One of those with a buzzsaw/ork chainweapon/catachan sentinel CCW might work. They also have some other kinds of drones, you should just have a look at their range.

I also like these minis, sadly I haven't had a reasen yet to get some evil retro sci-fi robots. There's a pack with 5 flying drones. Just add skulls and voilà: instant 40k. :)

Infinity remotes (except for the small humanoid helper 'bots which are on 25mm) are on slightly flatter (2mm, not the 3mm GW) 40mm bases (zonds,Rebots, etc).

They don't fit on 25mm bases (the feet tend to have a 32mm or so spacing).

[Played infinity for the last year or so. Have some of those remotes for Nomads, Yu-jing and PanOceania.]

Reaper minis do some nice bots also (Chronoscape line, not the CAV line).
