Olgerth Istaarn
I know this has been asked before, but "drone" is too wide of a term for a meaningful search. I need two models that can stand in for Fenrisian Wolves (NOT Thunderwolves). I don't want them to be canine. I've explored saurian options, and it all turns out way too silly. So, I want two of something drone-like that looks like it is fast, and can kick moderate ass in close combat. Per fluff these are shield drones (which is why they take the first two wounds for the character they are attached to). The CAT from Space Hulk looks too slow and harmless. I've contemplating converting Tau drones, but can't think of a way to make them Imperial enough. Recommendations, ideas or pictures would be much appreciated. Grand-Redemptor Ezkallon
You could try strapping weapons to servo-skulls? That would look rather badass IMO. Or maybe convert some of the techmarine servitors? or even the techmarines themselves, replace the servo-arm "hands" with blades or something, and the body with something suitably expendable... Solid Zaku
You could take the Tau Drones, use some dremel and some card, and make it look like the center actually houses numerous blades that extend and go slicing, nice and Imperially. Nirraven
I would recommend Palbots from Infinity. Attach some blades to the and you should be fine. They are roughly the size of Watchers in the Dark. http://www.morgenwelt.org/shop/images/40599.jpg -N- Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231622-i-need-drones-or-small-droids/#findComment-2786836 Share on other sites
Firedrake Cordova
Not really a robot/droid, but what about the Witch Hunters' Crusader? Looks a bit robotic/android-y... Hellios
You said not canine but I'm not sure if you meant actual dogs or just appearance... Enforcers have robotic cyber-mastiffs... basically dog shaped robots which are designed to rush in and take down criminals and also have sensor arrays so they can track and so on. If those sound interesting look under specialist games on the GW site and then Necromunda. chromedog
Would mechanical rats be a close fit? There are some for the "Heroscape" game that are about the size of wolves that might do. Head Mook
try doing a search for Adeptus Mechanicus stuff? There's a really great army posted right here on the B&C: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...9&hl=nurgle Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231622-i-need-drones-or-small-droids/#findComment-2787089 Share on other sites
Olgerth Istaarn
I've been actually thinking about using Infinity probe minis, like the Zonds... I wonder how big these bases are. Has anyone had any experience with Infinity minis? Durus
One of those with a buzzsaw/ork chainweapon/catachan sentinel CCW might work. They also have some other kinds of drones, you should just have a look at their range. I also like these minis, sadly I haven't had a reasen yet to get some evil retro sci-fi robots. There's a pack with 5 flying drones. Just add skulls and voilà: instant 40k. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231622-i-need-drones-or-small-droids/#findComment-2787236 Share on other sites
chromedog
Infinity remotes (except for the small humanoid helper 'bots which are on 25mm) are on slightly flatter (2mm, not the 3mm GW) 40mm bases (zonds,Rebots, etc). They don't fit on 25mm bases (the feet tend to have a 32mm or so spacing). [Played infinity for the last year or so. Have some of those remotes for Nomads, Yu-jing and PanOceania.] Reaper minis do some nice bots also (Chronoscape line, not the CAV line). Olgerth Istaarn
Oh, I like the missile RAF drone. I'm going to try and kitbash a skull on it instead of the eye...
