I'd rather advocate using Imperial Cruisers as the basis of an Imp JB...

if you have any pics of this method, post them here, I'm curious....

As to the orky-ness of the jetbike, it's name is the Iron Shark, which the right hand picture really shows it's sharkiness, also once I have recieved mine I intend on removing the rear upright exhausts which I think will help.

Cheers,

Jono

I just recieved my Horus Heresy art books today (was able to find all 4 volumes together on eBay), and while looking at all the pretty pictures I stumbled across this one......look familiar?

Pic located in Volume III, page 21.

Removing the multiple exhausts certainly would help, but the front intake mimics the Ork fliers right down to there being guns where the eyes are. He means sheer the prow off of an Imperial Cruiser, and use that as the front piece. Then you hack off the front fender/wheel forks from a marine bike and attach it behind the prow. Then hack off the sides of the rear fender and put an engine in there. Size-wise, one of the Ork Stormboyz jump packs actually works quite well, and has a nice turbine on it too. Just be sure to remove the haphazard Orky details to clean it up and so look Imperial. Stick an open book on the top of the prow, just in front of the handlebars. Then undersling a plasma cannon and mount put two bolter barrels in the sides of the prow where the torpedo openings are. Then use plastic Ravenwing robed legs, torso, and other DA/SM bits to make Sammael. All plastic MotRW, on a jetbike.

Considering that GW is now doing leaders with set bits on very small sprues, we could very well see a plastic Sammael next time around.

So I've recieved my Iron Shark jetbikes and de-exhausted one and Dark Angeled it a bit

and here it beside the TS jetbike I kitbashed awhile back...

The only modification necessary for my TS rider to fit the Iron Shark is to exend the footrests width-wise like I had to on the kitbash.

Isiah: Here we go, just cause you asked, it's just a quick 2 second job, using a Ravenwing Bike fairing and the Hussar feather thingy...

I tried to take a front on photo but the Ravenwing "jink" resulted in about 10 blurry pics.

Why didnt you go for the collected visions version?

The eBay auction also included a hard-back "Art of Warhammer 40.000", and the price was good.

(Sorry mods, I know it's off topic, I promise this is as far as I'll stray)

I think he meant :

Note: Not my model, just a picture I got off either Dakka or the B&C. Were I to try to do a Plastic Sammael, I'd go for:
