Kassill
Forgive me if this has been discussed, but I just got to thinking on Thunderwolves after posting in another thread, do they give +1 wound to those who have to purchase the Thunderwolf Mount? After looking, the answer is no. Why is that? Thunderwolf Cavalry, who come with the Thunderwolf already in their statline have 2 wounds (rider, Thunerwolf). But those who have to "buy" theirs from their wargear selections dont. Why? Has this been FAQ'd? Did I miss something? Or is my thinking here wrong? Nrthstar
I thought about this once too, but since it doesn't say +1 wound in the description, I gave up on my logic and moved on. All I can say is to do the same  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231702-oddity-on-thunderwolves/#findComment-2787744 Share on other sites
Wulfebane
Likely because, with the exception of the Iron Priest, all 2 Units that can take a TWM wargear option already have multiple wounds (minimum of 2, which is equivalent to a TWM pack member) and adding more would be overkill. As for the Iron Priest, between cyberwolves and servitors, they can potentially have up to 7 meat shields following them around, so giving them another wound is, again, overkill. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
i would say for it was probably due to a matter of game balance. a wolf lord on a TWM is a WS6, S/T5 W3 A5 beast. thats before wargear and sagas. as the TH/SS thunderlords prove, its a crazy awesome combo. maybe phil kelly didnt want people to go completely overboard on a single model. sides, just how expensive would everything be if another W was giving in the profile? Kassill
Haha, yeah, that would insane to have a Thunderlord with more wounds than ol' Logan himself! Guess I'll have to do like Nrth and give up on my logic. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231702-oddity-on-thunderwolves/#findComment-2787776 Share on other sites
Dewi Sant
It will prob get FAQ around about the time that GW release FWC just to tempt us all the more into buying them. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231702-oddity-on-thunderwolves/#findComment-2787797 Share on other sites

FAQ Canis Uslessborn to let TWC count as scoring troops instead of (or in addition) Fen Wolves I wonder if they realized that he was useless and so didn't put out any other models in hopes of forcing people to buy him and use him as a conversion. No I don't really wonder that, just a smarmy remark from a Guy who has spent way too much money. Lord Ragnarok
Agreed on balance. Thunder lords with 4 wounds, T5, Eternal Warrior with T.Hammer and Shield and 6 attacks on the charge is just begging for an ocean of whiney tears and gnashing of the teeth. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231702-oddity-on-thunderwolves/#findComment-2788265 Share on other sites
rodgambit
I think it would have been great but when GW can't even get the "Saga of the Hunter" models to work with OBEL then I wouldn't expect them to get this right either. We will eventually be on the bottom as each new book creates more and more things that outclass the one before it. GK's anyone? Str 7 assault cannons for 5 points and an HQ equal in cost to Logan that makes me cry. Logan should have 4 wounds for as much as he cost and Bjorn higher I and extra armor. I just think the named HQ's in our book are way overpriced for what they are lacking. On the flip side of that we have a great cheap HQ option in the rune priest and very cool customizable HQ's. Bloodmange
While Chick Norris does have a beard one would find it hard confuse with chest hair...but I digress. That would be scary on the field! Kassill
What if they bumped the cost for the TWM by like 5-10 points to include +1W? Still balanced, or no?
