Drago v Defiler

The crimes against Chaos Space Marines doesn't mean the rest of 40K shouldn't be fixed along the lines of common sense.

They desparately need a new Codex, I've always supported my Chaotic brethren make no mistake, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't stick to our principles.

Besides, I'm surprised people hadn't shelved their Chaos army already. After all, just being competetive doesn't make them a worthwhile army to play. I have several mates who quit 40K because they hated the new Codex, regardless of the competetive nature of the book.

Look at this way, if more people gave up on their Chaos armies sooner, maybe GW would have done an update sooner. :(

True. But it would have been a simple matter to FaQ that daemonic units = units with the daemon special rule, and then in the next chaos codex, give all relevant csm units that rule (or another saying they are daemons for the purposes of GK anti daemon rules.)

I competitively shelved my chaos army about a year after the that cardboard sammich came out. I won too much and got bored with it, and I never used obliterators :(.

But really? Such overreaction in the lines of "someone might bring this army in a tournament with a LOT of people, so now I have no chance at all waaaaa!" seems rather silly, no? Now that they get preferred enemy against just one extra unit is the end of the world for some reason? This auto-lose mentality just doesn't make any sense at all.

The next chaos codex is too far away for that idea to work well. They needed to define who and what now, not in a few years.

We have one Grey Knight player in our entire group, and he switches between armies, regardless of age or competitiveness, almost every two months. I think he was playing Orks before, then Space Wolves, then Daemonhunters, then Tyranids, and so on. I just haven't been seeing many Grey Knights, even in other stores, and if you notice, the Grey Knight discussion is almost at the level it was when they were DH. They're definitely not a reason to quit Chaos.

Most of the tournaments I attend are local store events with 9-12 people. In 3 games, that gives me a 1/3rd to 1/4th chance to get matched with a GK player, even if there is only one. Sure, it's not autolose even if I get him. But it is stacked on top of the rest of the challenge of winning a tournament. I already have to deal with the random factor of dice. Why would I ever try to play in a competitive environment with an extra handicap? Now personally, I gave up on Chaos awhile ago. Luckily for GW, I have other armies so I'm still around.
