Oh, we so love being teased! That was after 8 hours of meetings, and not HH-related, but it's all a secret for now. Many apple-ogies. Who are the guys with their backs to the camera? Gav Thorpe and Chris Wraight. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231822-clandestine-meeting/#findComment-2789193 Share on other sites
Master Ciaphas
Well - my guess would be that it is related to the forth-coming "Primarchs" series/novels what-not, with Gav Thorpe cast as the writer to yet again ruin the Dark Angels... :-) Still. It will be interesting to see what the meeting is really about :-) /Master Ciaphas Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231822-clandestine-meeting/#findComment-2789196 Share on other sites

Hmm. Well. "Angels of Darkness" was ok-ish. The two HH Dark Angel books felt a bit out of place, but I actually quite liked the Mike Lee one. Thorpes "Purging of Kadillus" was quite, quite horrible. I still have not read the novel by ADB "Savage Weapons" but I suspect that it will blow all of Gav Thorpes "works" out of the water, and set a new, and quite high, bar for what constitutes good Dark Angel fiction. Codicier Lucion
with Gav Thorpe cast as the writer to yet again ruin the Dark Angels... :-) In all fairness I think that's due to him not being that great with Space Marines. The Eldar and Last Chancers books he wrote were extremely good, even if the latter are a bit old now. The Eldar and Last Chancers books he wrote were extremely good, even if the latter are a bit old now. Space Marines are quite hard to write, in the sense that there is a frame of reference in humanity but the association with "Human" is removed to a degree but still retains certain emotions and characteristics. Whereas with an actual Human, actually being one helps with that mindset to a degree. With Xenos you can submerse yourself into an entire mindset, without having to retain a "half in/half out" mentality that a Marine might require. I liked Angels of Darkness and I didn't hate Purging of Kadillus. I liked his portrayal of Corax in Raven's Flight, so I am holding out hope for Deliverance Lost. Do you hear me Mr. Thorpe?! Please please please do not screw up the Raven Guard! They get so little love as it is. Also ADB: you give us these fantastic peeks into your interpretations of certain things, like Corax and the Lion, but that's it. Why must you tease us so! Or alternatively: Write more on them! Wasn't sure if you were still engaged in work related larks. WLK: Fair point there mate. Sorry, i was speaking as someone over the pond. There's been signings popping up regularly here. If you could ever make it over for a tournament here, BL have started booking a couple of writers for those events (Gav Thorpe, Darius Hinks and Nick Kyme were at the fantasy doubles.)
