Chef Wulfen
Would it be looked down on if a Great Company would say use xeno tech that has been back engineer by our Iron Priests. ie Tau shield drones. im trying to make some fluff for my GC but i wanted to see what my brothers and sisters had to say. Xeenos
Why not "Shield Survo Skulls" With their own tech? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231875-spoils-of-war/#findComment-2789593 Share on other sites

Schertenleib
I don't think using xenos tech would go over very well. After all. The forces of the Imperium don't look very favorably on the 13th Company for using scavenged Chaos gear. Chef Wulfen
true. but i was alost thinking what if a GC was in deep space and they came in contact with a xeno race and drfeted them and took some of there tech to learn from it. Wulfebane
The Imperium barely understands the technology behind computers and bolter manufacturing.. I doubt they could back engineer Tau tech.. in particular Iron Priests. IMO we're busy trying to figure out Blood Angel tank engines. MaveriK
Once upon a time during rogue trader days, marines could use various weapons including xeno tech like shuriken catapult, and shuriken pistols. Heck if you even look at Luka's gun. "Lukas' Gun If you look carefully at Lukas, you'll see all manner of unusual trappings and trophies from his escapades. Attached to his plasma pistol is a sight of clearly alien manufacture. Perhaps Lukas gained more than experience alone fighting the Dark Eldar." http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/...rue&start=2 But in the end.. I think it's all about the relationship between the Iron Priest and the machine spirit within the tech if there is any! then again our Space Wolves did decide to duct tape lascannons on a predator tank right? Orphus
Space Wolves!? Using xenos tech!? *gasp* That would be impure in the eyes of the Em-prah! :0 ...I can see them being used exclusively as a spoil, but that's it, nothing in your face, that would attract unwanted attenion. Combining this with what Mav said.. I can see "scavenged" devices being used, if the understanding to use them was minimal ( PUSH RED BUTTON ---> O ), or if it was a simple plug 'n play thing like what could possibly account for Lukas' scope, but actually making use of a full line of xeno tech doesn't make sense to me. I don't know about Tau (having not read the codex yet) but, for example, Eldar tech is physiology based, requiring psychic commands to even fire their weapons. Forté
I see xenos equipment only being used as a last ditch. No bolter shells left, chainsword broken......look, an Ork chopper to cave a few heads in until I get more shells and a new chainsword. The Imperium doesn't like change and don't seek it. That and the only ones sanctioned to use xenos stuff is the inquisition and they don't like sharing. hendrik
Eldar tech is physiology based, requiring psychic commands to even fire their weapons. are you serious? lol, just imagine a sister of silence using a deltaglider to stalk an eldar titan. the titan unable to shoot and move! :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231875-spoils-of-war/#findComment-2790658 Share on other sites

Their complex technology is based upon psychotropic engineering, the manipulation of matter using psychic energy." -pg3 "The basis of Eldar technology is psychic, and is unique to Eldar. No other race has ever replicated their technology..." "In some respects they are more like living tissue than inert substances, growing and reacting to their environment in a similar way to plants. The completed device is a semi-organic machine or component that works in a conventional manner, though it is often operated by psychic means." - pg13 This isn't meant to derail the topic, but add to the thinking behind using xenos gear. Are the Tau similar in their tech, meaning is it built around their own physiology like Eldar are, etc? hendrik
lol, it was a lawl at eldar :teehee: but just imagine it, lord rags ordering us to hunt and dismember some pariahs yet keep them alive and then when we're facing an eldar warhost we hurl the pariahs to their titans etc :P as for tau technology, given tau have no presence in the warp it take it's pretty much elektromachanically based Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231875-spoils-of-war/#findComment-2791164 Share on other sites
