Token
Should librarians have blue parts? And should techmarines have red? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231903-colors-for-librarians/ Share on other sites
Angelis Mortis
Its totally up to you. Personally, I make mine standard GK scheme, then paint certain parts to reflect their specialty (ie, Shoulderpads, maybe helmets, shinguards, what have you). stephane4985
I myself plan on using the SM Librarians model, put a sword instead of the staff and painting it in GK color. I wouldn't like to have an army all in silver except one figurine in Ultramarine blue! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231903-colors-for-librarians/#findComment-2790004 Share on other sites
Nian
My plan is to butcher a librarian and a techmarine finecast and merge them into plastic GK mini's. Lets remember that the grey knight librarian and techmarine are originally Grey Knights who have had special training, they would still keep their original armour, just modified and upgraded to suit their new role. jeffersonian000
I'm pretty sure GK Librarians should be in standard GK colors, but with a Librarian sigil on a blue for their right shoulder. As to Techmarines, again, I pretty sure they should be in Mechanicus red armour with a Mechanic sigil on their red shoulder yet with a left GK shoulder. Both would be traditional codex standards. My Librarian, when I'm done with him, will be a plastic GKT with the appropriate gear and paint scheme. If I end up doing GK Techmarines, I'll be going for an all plastic model with a cog right shoulder painted brick red with silver and gold highlights, if I can. SJ We don't paint an Apothecary any different... These guys as far as fluff wise are just grey knights retrained, yes they are now a tech or a libby but at their core, they're still grey knights. Would any grey knight other than purifyer change their armour colour. Probably not, however their shoulder pad, some seals and other rites may be a bit different. Thats what I like about grey knights, they are relatively self sufficient so they don't need to get outsiders to do the work all that often, matt ward did a good job on the whole fluff about how the Grey Knights and Adeptus Mechanicus treat and deal with each other. Oh and on page 32 of the codex, the picture of a grey knight techmarine is very Grey Knightish. Certainly doesn't look like a normal techmarine. I can't find any official painted mini's specifically painted for the Grey Knights anywhere either so...? jeffersonian000
An Apothecary should have a white shoulder with a caduceus, if memory serves. SJ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231903-colors-for-librarians/#findComment-2790439 Share on other sites

SJ But beyond that, we paint the rest of the armour the same as any other GK. Its subtle differences for the most part. :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231903-colors-for-librarians/#findComment-2790450 Share on other sites
