slah
I figured I would try and start a 40K army, and with GKs I think I found something I would actually be able to finish becasue it usually contains so few models  - but also because it´s possible to add sooo many excentric choices afterwards with inquisitors, henchmen and retinues. So I bought a box of GK termis and stuck them together: http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Grey%20Knights/Paladin%20Squad/IMG_3155.jpg And then I went to work figuring out my colourscheme. I want something darker, more gritty and gothic than the GW bright and shiny silver. This is the result so far: http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Grey%20Knights/Paladin%20Squad/IMG_3166.jpg Let me know what you think. Slyen
I like it. Its a nice start. My biggest question judging off of the close up is are you priming your models? It doesn't look like it and that, depending on your outlook, is something you should probably do... Validar
great looking knights, you really did the lighting effect perfectly Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231927-my-grey-knights/#findComment-2790219 Share on other sites
Denrik Greymane
I agree, looks great. The darker tones seem to suit very well, and the lighting inside the hood is awesome. I also agree, that if you aren't, which it doesn't look like you are, you should really prime your models. Dorns Padawan
I agree with Validar & Denrik Greymane, they summed it up nicely B) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231927-my-grey-knights/#findComment-2790239 Share on other sites
slah
Thanks for the nice comments! And the minis are undercoated - I use the grey Vallejo model air primer, but brushed on. When dry it has almost the exact same colour as GW plastic (So i have learned to do it fast <_<) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231927-my-grey-knights/#findComment-2790507 Share on other sites

slah
Yup I´ve used the andrea silver set on this guy, and most of him is done with Andrea paints. I think they are great! They are by far my favorite at the moment, and I´ve used most of the "normal paint lines so far: GW, P3; Vallejo (both kinds), Rackham and Reaper. They just work really well without needing a s**tload of effort all the time. As an added bonus the colours are more oriented towards historical minis, so they are more desaturated than the more regular glaring fantasy/scifi oriented paintlines (which is a plus in my book). Try out a couple of the sets, and I will almost guarantee that you won´t be disappointed. slah
Done! I´m quite pleased with him, considering it´s TT quality, and very easy to massproduce <_< http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Grey%20Knights/Paladin%20Squad/IMG_3190.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Grey%20Knights/Paladin%20Squad/IMG_3188.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Grey%20Knights/Paladin%20Squad/IMG_3187.jpg http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii284/slah_photos/Games%20Workshop/40K/Grey%20Knights/Paladin%20Squad/IMG_3186.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/231927-my-grey-knights/#findComment-2808286 Share on other sites
Wulfebane
Wow, I'm glad I saw this thread before I got around to building my GKs. I'm totally stealing that blue glow inner helm idea. Overall, I love the paint job. Subtle and very clean and nicely blended.
