New Grey Knight FAQ, mainly Daemon part

Recommended Posts

Yeah this was my first thought put in the BRB FAQ if it affects more than one codex

It is a very rare, rare, rare day when I put my rune priest into close combat, much less with anything daemonic. However, this seems to be a pretty bad case of bad writing in that if anything it should have been part of the BRB FAQ not the codex specific illusion of the GK FAQ.
who has ever claimed that deamon princes arnt deamons? or the avatar, lesser deamons etc. the suprise is that things that have been clased that wernt compleately obvious like mandrakes and oblits. it makes sense but really then they need to mark in the codexes what is a deamon and what isnt...

i think one of the GW authors summed it up best in an interview a while back when asked what is and isnt a demon cause of the 'type:demon' thing; "...it says 'demon' in the name. duh..."

it pains me to see how often writers have to confirm whether a unit really is a demon or not, after assuming the gamers arent stupid enough to have to ask this when the unit says 'demon' in its name. that's like asking a 'satanic worshiping cultist teenager' "hey, do you believe in satan or no? cause, the term used to describe your group may imply it, buuuut, im not so sure your not really just an athiest." B)

After checking out the BA faq in regard to Baal Predators popping smoke during their scoutmove I am even more convinced now that the GK faq that defines daemons is exclusive to the GK special rule of Preferred Enemy (Daemons) or any other army that has Preferred Enemy (Daemons)
That makes no sence what so ever? What are you saying. That you were looking at an army spefic tank with a specail ability of only that army, and now you believe a daemon can not be a daemon with our rune weapons because????? Um what?

no more than wanting to field a storm raven for your space wolf army :)

That you were looking at an army spefic tank with a specail ability of only that army,

having a Demon Prince without the demon rule[which the demon codex DP clearly has] is also codex specific . It is the same you got with the pre FAQ BT and DA gear it worked different even if it had same names .

Im sorry that GW felt, like most people, that having the Title of DAEMON Prince was obvious enough. If they had more rules lawyers in their cadre people wouldnt be so misled Im sure.

you mean like the one shot cyclons and the ss that work only in hth and give +4 inv ?

there are a few rulings in the codex FAQ's that affect other armies

such as

The Eldar FAQ has rulings about Skimmers in , the Space Wolf FAQ tells us how Counter-Attack and Furious Charge interact and two CCWs on bikes was in the DE FAQ.

So it is not new for FAQ rulings to have cross codex affects

So to me this this ruling will affect our rune weapons

Oh look.... those dont exist any more, and for many of us those havent existed for a long time.

Exactly, the FAQs often have cross-codex implications. Aren't the Answers for questions on Drop Pods found the the FAQ for Codex Space Marines? Do those answers not apply to our Drop Pods (or Blood Angels, etc.)? Of course they do. The location of the answer is irrelevant when the answer provides the details needed to resolve a question from elsewhere.
