HJL
So ive had the 2nd ed company master floating around for years now and have never found any use for him. I decided that i would turn him into an objective so that he can be involved in my games once again! any suggestions on how i can improve him? Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232038-objective-marker/ Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
The moss/grass seems off to me. It looks more like he's wearing a big carpet than moss, if you see what I mean. Your stone is incredible, though. <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232038-objective-marker/#findComment-2791322 Share on other sites
Droma
It should look like there is dirt around where the grass is hanging on. Maybe some sort of brown wash around the edges of the grass to imply dirt is sticking in those areas. Otherwise it looks like long grass is sticking to relatively clean stone. Maybe a green wash as well. Take a look at some rock reference their is more color variation from dirt/moss/water stains/etc than what you have. It's a very nice start though. Interrogator Stobz
Agreed, stipple some different browns and greens on the thing. Also, grass doesn't grow down, when you apply it and before the PVA glue is dry, blow upwards from the base to give it some direction. Awesome marker BTW :P 2c stobz Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232038-objective-marker/#findComment-2791404 Share on other sites
Brother Kovash
I love this idea, but you could always add a few amenities. Throw in an ork skull or an eldar helmet for some flavor. Maybe add in a few purity seals to the stone to make it into a shrine. There are many ways you could go with this. I'm very interested to see what you come up with. he_plays_guitar
I would actually use flock instead of static grass...flock works much better than static grass to suggest moss, unless you actually want it to look like grass. You can use different shades of flock to suggest different ages of moss and mold.
