ok im quite confused with this, its probaly a stupid thing but you know,... on the gamesday 2008 model (spacemarine captain) do you count that hammer as a thunder hammer and the gun in the holster is just a bolt pistol right? or could you say it was a plasma pistol..... :)

Yes to the thunder hammer and I often alternate between the two pistol types depending on how much points I have to play with, I normally indicate the holster on the captain and show that I've paid the points for the plasma pistol wen I use it.

thankyou my life suddenly has more meaning that thunder hammer thing was doing my head in, does it say it is also a two handed weapon in the newer codex?( i only have the old one) or is it just a given

Thunder hammers are not two handed weapons by description (otherwise they couldn't be paired with a storm shield) However if I remember correctly they are treated as similar to power fists ie you don't get a bonus attack unless you take 2 of them, so that pretty much makes a pistol CC redundant.

 

Of course this is from memory (which is unreliable at the best of times) if I'm wrong... meh!

No, you're quite correct.

 

Pistol + Thunderhammer won't give you +1A (you need a second t-hammer for that).
