henrywalker Posted June 16, 2011 Share Posted June 16, 2011 So this idea came from wanting the magneus calgar and honour guard set. the idea is a brother-captain leading a group of brotherhood champions into large battles. I'm not saying this is great. it might be broken, it might not work. any opinions are great. points wise i'm thinking between 80-100 points + models. i'm crap at determining points values though so ideas on that would be great. ********************************************************* Brother Captain Carsus 2-5 brotherhood champions 0-1 librarian Stubborn, furious charge, fearless. Entire squad has psybolt ammo. Carsus: 200 Points Ws Bs S T W I A Ld Sv 6 4 5 4 3 5 4 10 2+ Frag, Krak, Psych-out Grenades, Iron Halo, mastery level 1, terminator armor, servo skull Nemesis gauntlets: These are twin, master-crafted nemesis force weapons, fashioned into power fists. These award an extra attack in close combat (included). Built into each gauntlet is a storm bolter. These are treated as a single, twin-linked storm bolter Isolated destruction: The champions form a ring of steel around Captain carsus, defending him from all comers and trapping the attacking unit’s leader in their center. None have ever survived this ordeal. The entrapped individual may attempt to escape but the grim form of Carsus descends upon them, crushing them between his mighty gauntlets. Models caught in this attack can only be individual characters. The character must take a leadership test on it’s own leadership value -2, if it fails it is instantly removed as a casualty with no saves of any kind allowed, if the test is passed causes D3+1 wounds with no armor saves allowed and carsus suffers a wound with no armor save. When this attack occurs all brotherhood champions in the squad must assume the blade shield stance. Carsus may not be targeted by another model during this attack. All other models (not including the character) gain the feel no pain special rule for this assault phase as they desperately attempt to free their leader. The Chapter Banner Of The Grey Knights: all friendly units within 12 inches of this model gain +1 attack and furious charge. Angelis Mortis Posted June 16, 2011 Share Posted June 16, 2011 Furious Charge? Are they Grey Knights or Blood Angels? Doesn't the Brotherhood Champion already kind fulfill the role of taking out ICs, if not straight out, then with Heroic Sacrifice? Just kind of seem redundant and not in the spirit of Grey Knights. skarn Posted June 17, 2011 Share Posted June 17, 2011 I'd like to see a formation that involves teleporting. Fluffwise, the GK teleport in, kill everything, then teleport out. Something like the old Redeemer Formation: 200 points 1 Grandmaster or Brother-Captain 0-1 Librarian 2-5 Squads of either Paladins, Terminators, Strike Squads or Interceptors All models in the formation will enter on the same turn. The GM (or BC) is placed first as per the normal deepstrike rules, each squad is then placed within 12 inches of the GM (or BC) with no scatter. All models in the formation have the Heroic Intervention special rule and the Rites of Exorcism psychic power. At the end of the turn that has no models from either Chaos codex left on the board, all GK are removed from play as they teleport back to their ship. Much more Grey Knightish. Well done.
