adeptuscustodus
This is the start of the army i'm working on after about 10 years of one off models and collecting mostly. Trying to build a small playable army and expand on that, Although most models will be converted and individualised (always try to leave a personal touch on each and every model) My captain in terminator armour based on Luftg Huron. http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00065.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00066.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00067.jpg I slightly repositioned him, removed all Astral Claws icons and replaced them with Novamarines ones, made shrines on his legs, added a sculpted cloak, stormbolter and have retracted the lighning claw blades (So I can use as power fist or lightning claw) Company champion (emperors champion) http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00068.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00069.jpg He's not finished yet and parts from multiple sources, Still some sculpting to do on him like the missing finger and laurels around company nr (4th) and extra purity seals My venerable dread ready for paint http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00082.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00080.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00079.jpg Started out as an Ultramarine dread, removed all icons and tyranid thingy's and combined Forgeworld arms with plastic venerable dread arms and parts Hope you like it and will post some more pics as I proceed with painting building Dennis Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/ Share on other sites
Eberious
The EC is very cool, ah the joys of fine cast. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2796195 Share on other sites
Machinepriest
'Huron' is looking really nice so far! I've always liked the Novamarines colour scheme. Can't wait to see more ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2796197 Share on other sites
Drudge Dreadnought
These are looking like a great start. How did you do the shrines on the captain's legs? Dinks
It seems rare to find a Novamarines force so i am really looking forward to see more progress! Fantastic start so far though, especially on the bleached white! Race Bannon
It seems rare to find a Novamarines force so i am really looking forward to see more progress! Fantastic start so far though, especially on the bleached white! I know! I'm keeping an eye out here :cuss Using the Huron model for a Novamarine army seems devilishly ironic :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2796291 Share on other sites
hushrong
Looks great! Really digging the work and paint job you gave the Huron mini. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2796331 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Kanithon
Your Novamarines look fantastics, any chance of a run down as to how you painted them? I really like the champion too, may have to get me some more vanguard vets. adeptuscustodus
Thanks for looking at my minis, will try to keep you updated on the progress. About the leg shrines they are cut from a forgeworld torso and recesses were dremel'd in the legs pushed in and grey stuffed in. @ Race Bannon: I also saw the irony of it and thought that if Chaos stole a lot of marines from the emperor it is time to get some back to the right cause! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2797267 Share on other sites
Kizzdougs
Ahhh the irony. I love it :P That dread is going to look awesome in the Nova Marines scheme! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2797329 Share on other sites

adeptuscustodus
Hello, Painted a bit more only not as much as I hoped... Finished the blue I think but maybe some touch ups here and there. Also thinking a lot about the colour for the cape, maybe purple or green? It's difficult as I dont want to put too much different colours on him, so suggestions are welcome... And about the colour recipe, give me some time and I will write it down as it's not so difficult, only about 3 to 4 different colours and some blending.... Thanks for all comments Dennis http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i154/Mekboy/Novamarines/DSC00094.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2802833 Share on other sites
MagicMan
The Cape is a tough one, you don't want to pick a colour that'll overshadow the other two... Maybe just a simple dark grey cape? If you're good at freehand, you could always do a fancy design along the edge. Grizzly_bear
what about red for the "outside" of the cape and possibly a dark blue/grey for the inner bit? or even red inside and then a really dark grey on the outside? love the VG and EC conversion Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2802971 Share on other sites

Grimdarkness
They look great as for the cloak why not quarter it blue white. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2958320 Share on other sites
MagicMan
Looking sweet bro. Red would be a good colour for the cloak, it looks good with Blue and White without overpowering them. Dosjetka
Would you mind giving me (us) a run-down on how to paint your blue? It looks terrific :tu: I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread. Kassill
Glad to see this back and running! As for the cape, I'd go with a grey one personally. Anything else might draw to much attention when you really want people to see the front of him as he is fantastic! Once again, looking great! :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232464-novamarines-project/#findComment-2958376 Share on other sites
