Today Skulltaker killed....

Recommended Posts

Everyone else has one why don't we jump on the bandwagon? Today I took Skulltaker and my God he was awesome.

Killed: 3 Death company marines, 4 Sanguinary guard, Dante and the Khan.

He was definitely my MVP. He and his bloodcrusher unit dealt with the SM deathstar units quite well. Anyone else have any experiences to share?

Why is this topic half-dead???

Today I had Skulltaker kill, in turn, 4 Assault Marines, a Sanguinary priest (or whatever the chalice dudes are called) and big bad Mephiston, all the while his accompanying Bloodletters killed the rest of 2 squads of marines. In a single charge.

Yup, he is, as long as you don't fluff your dice. :)

This Wednesday I'm fighting some Dark Angels. Will edit the post with the added victims...

edit: Fought the Dark Angels, lost lamentably, but Skulltaker did charge an Interrogator Chaplain and his 5 Terminator buddies, killed all but one in two turns and then proceeded to fail killing the last one for four turns until he died...

@eFTy- I love using them, they're so fun. If one of them gets loose after the first turn of shooting after deepstrike, they cause so much havoc. I played it against an IG player....haha so many morale checks. First turn I got one of them onto the board, the IG guy shot him up caused two wounds and then decided to charge him with his ogryns. They all died in one turn. After that, he made a new rule for himself, never charge a bloodthirster ever.

I've found Skulltaker on a crusher to be the best, yes he's more or less just a really expensive bloodcrusher but his insta-kill rending makes him an AMAZING IC/multiwound killer. Plus when he's in a unit of crushers he's got more models to hide behind. When he's on foot with a unit of letters they just seem to die far too quickly. That's my favorite thing to do with him though is just hunt ICs.

@Questioner- Wow whoever you were playing must've been rolling horribly, all he needed was one 4+ to wound and that necron lord would've been a pile of shiny green parts on the floor <_<

I've got to have my screamers and fiends done before I can let Skulltaker out of my 1500 list. Today I played vs Dark Angels again, and after 2 turns of straddling through a 2-story ruin (And being shot up to pieces), Skulltaker and the 4 letters that were still standing slaughtered a terminator squad. In a single phase. :D
Definitely try him out when you do get them, I've been using just a regular bloodcrusher painted slightly differently and with a few bitz of armor thrown on to use as Skulltaker. What's FoW stand for? It's early and haven't had coffee yet. :o

Flames of War. When I do get the juggers, I'll make one stand out - cloak of skulls, some extra armour bits, etc, somewhat similar with this guy, but without the huge banner:

Two games coming up today - guard and blood angels. Unfortunately they're 'no special character' games so I won't have any kills to add to the thread...

edit: Played another game vs Dark Angels before the store goes into vacation mode, Skulltaker fluffed all his attacks, his 4 remaining bloodletter buddies killed all 5 terminator targets, then the squad got shot to pieces. Not exactly the desired result, but the angels were wiped out nonetheless. Stupid daemonic assault rule randomness...

I am a believer... I loved Skulltaker before, but after taking him on a juggernaut :)

Lets see, he killed a death company chaplain, several death company (4 or so), and a Death Company Dreadnought all by himself! The two bloodcrushers with him killed a ton as well. Unit was tough as nails and the best unit in the game from both sides.
