Were is Moria?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I blame myself, maybe it was the 12 hour 6 days a week work schedule, I was reading the blood angels codex and thought that "HEY!! Were is Moriar?". So is it just poor writing on games workshop or has one of the Blood angels oldest death company dreads just been removed from history. Anyone else want to know what happened to this time honored character? As far as I have seen the Blood Angel's fluff has taken a beating, it’s not all bad and some of it is interesting, but completely wiping a character off the map is like kicking your best friend’s grandmother after she has fallen down the stairs.

I am interested in what the Blood angels and 40k community have to say about this, please share your thoughts.

...you mean we're not supposed to kick our best friend's grandmother after she falls down the stairs?

any way, as has been said before, moriaR is still there.

I would have like to see an actual special character in the codex itself, Moriar is just as much a part of the blood angels as Dante or Mephiston. Instead he only gets one excerpt about 12-13 sentences in length and a small little example of his banner in the back. Even in a picture of what should be Moriar it only says it’s a "death company dreadnaught". Moriar is a part of the Blood Angels history and sweeping him under the rug is very disappointing.

It's because the DC Dread was a rare thing in the PDF Codex, so special character, now it's a more common option so a special character option isn't needed. There's nothing stopping you running a DC Dread with Moriar's iconography.

While I agree with Retributis that there is nothing from someone fielding a Moriar looking model, but it doesn’t excuse GW from taking him out of the character list entirely.

thing is though with the arrival of blood talons our standard dreads have become so much better than moriar was in many situations, except against veichles etc, which blood fists normally own anyway... and i dont see whats so special about moriar that he should get attention above any other dreadnaught. dont get me wrong the dude is cool but i dont think he is deserving of a dreaspecial rules. saying that a furiso death company tycho would be interesting... un fluffy but interesting...

+1

The only thing that was special about Moriar is that he was a Death Company Dreadnought when nobody else was, the only way to justify him being a special character would be to give him some unique abilities he didn't have before which would itself be a retcon..

There is no Moriar in my 2nd Ed Angels of Death codex. So no, he isn't. Are you as equally annoyed at Veteran Sergeant Cleutin, Guardian of the Shroud of Sanginius being removed?

God damn Every time I see this topic I just think "She's in Megaton or shows up in the Underworld if you blow up Megaton"

I believe all the DC Furioso's from the old Flesh Tearer rules from Index Astartes would disagree with you :P

I was when 3rd Ed came out and to this day I still believe he should have had his own model, but that aside, I still believe Moriar deserves his own entry. He is part of the story of the blood angels and if he needs a little more upgrades for the new rule set so be it. Just taking him out (which has happened in the past with GW) from the character list isn’t right.

everyone else I am sorry about the name FAIL, that was my bad ^_^
