Scroll
Hi all, I'm returning to marines are a very long break painting all sorts of other things and this time I wish to employ a bit more care to my miniatures. The blood ravens tickle my fancy right now so I've decided to paint a 10 man tactical squad, 5 man squad of scouts, a Librarian and 5 Vanguard Veterans. Oh and A Rhino. I've done my test model but I had some issues with the base that I'm not too happy about. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3050/5849384854_8c3b674e38_z.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3530/5849390792_4f8b43c45d_z.jpg http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2736/5849387774_1d8c87acd7_z.jpg First miniature done and I'm starting the next one as I type this. Kizzdougs
Looking good so far :) I think the base could use a bit more depth, if you know what i mean. As it is it looks a bit 'muddy'. I would suggest using a little more sand and maybe some small pieces of slate as well. 'Static grass' i a great way to add a little colour. When it comes to high-lighting it looks like you had a little too much paint on your brush. I can't wait to see some more of your work, especially the Librarian :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232541-another-blood-ravens-project/#findComment-2797319 Share on other sites
Scroll
Aye, I feel that the base could do with some more work, I'm atleast going to make it lighter and possibly fit some slate on there. And as far as the highlights I didn't realise how thick they would turn out till I took the pictures, I might go back to thin them abit and maybe use the baal red wash to blend it a bit. And now here is the result so far: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3117/5850078659_d0e7e463c5_z.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232541-another-blood-ravens-project/#findComment-2797365 Share on other sites
