Inquisitor in Terminator Armour

Hello Lt.doobie here,

A few days ago I decided to try and make an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor in Terminator Armor, with the Nemesis Daemon Hammer and such.

This is a photo of a model I basically kit-bashed, with very little conversion. However I am in the process of sculpting a different chestplate that is a little more "inquisitor".

I know there is still mold lines and stuff still.

How about huge "I" on his chest plate? ;) Also, I don't know exactly... maybe grimoire on chain?

Anyway, nice work ;)

It's interesting to see following progress.

NO! No more sigils man, I'm begging you! One thing that you see all too often is overcrowded, overcomplicated miniatures. It looks like it has a good balance right now, and with maybe a painted I on the tabard, there'll be plenty that says inquisitor. I love it as is.

i like it!

and i agree that he's got enough iconography already. more would look crowded and ostentatious.

i also think the crux terminatus has to be converted or removed, because he's not an astartes.

looking forward to seeing more progress!

Update of my progress.

I decided to remove most of the iconography from the Terminator armor and tabard, opting for a much simpler look. Now I just have to tidy up the model, fix up the base then paint. hmmm... Anyone got any good ideas for colour scheme? Or if I should freehand the breastplate or leave it blank.

Made a small band of henchmen for the Inquisitor today. I didn't really worry about what the best possible unit could have been, rather I had the parts on hand or had an idea in my head. I'm leaving them without shoulder pads as it reduces their size and distinguishes them from regular marines. I'm reconsidering the models with the Storm Bolter and the Combi-Melta though, they just don't look quite right. Maybe not enough bling or just too boring in comparison...

Also I know, I still need to remove mold lines etc though C&C is welcome.

Update

Sorry for the double post. I've done a small amount of painting on some of the henchmen, although I've really hit a snag with how to paint the models in power armor or the Inquisitor.

I can't really think of a way to tie in the colours with the models in flak armor.

Anyway, here is some WIP.

I decided to make this model into a Crusader, I felt it the change was for the better. This guy is minus his shield, which is separate for painting.
