Inquisitor =D=
Morning everybody! What I'm pondering over today is how people are using the =][= options from our codex. All I read about these days is "Cotaez, Cotaez, Cotaez..." What about the other =][=s out there? Karamazov? Valeria? Hector Rex? Lok? Or even the =][='s unfortunate enough to not be mentioned in the codex (generic =][= entry)? My basic conundrum is that I own ~24 Kasrkin + miscellaneous henchmen and don't particularly like Cotaez... I do however still want to include the =][= in my army as I always have. ;) So.... Ideas? Tactics? Thoughts? :) =]D[= Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232601-inquisitors/ Share on other sites
number6
If you want to use that many "former ISTs" and henchman models, your only reasonable option is Coteaz. Them's the breaks. 40K has been revolving around the named characters ever since 5th edition hit the streets, and that's the way the GK codex is designed as well. THE PORTCULLIS
Coteaz is a must for an Inquisitor force considering you want to use ISTs as probable warrior acolytes. Coteaz opens them up as troops and is one of the best HQ choices in any codex- He'd still be cheap at 150 pts. Never used Valeria but Karamazov is nice. Use Karamazovs orbital strike in conjunction with some interceptors! Turn one shunt the interceptors next to a couple of tanks then lance strike one of your interceptors who happens to be standing near said enemy tanks. You got about a 50% chnace of nuking a land raider with that. Inquisitor Fox
I'll be running two generic Inquisitors, with a selection of various models. Think only about 6 or 7 are the "IST's" though, of my 40 some odd ISTs. The rest have to wait for an Apocalypse game :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232601-inquisitors/#findComment-2798329 Share on other sites
The emperors chosen
Well if you don't like Coteaz, use his stats, and make your own model. Coteaz is pretty much just a better version of an Inquisitor with a few special rules anyway. LaRP
I always include atleast 1 Inquisitor in my armies, usually accompanied with a henchman group that consists of 10 SB warriors and 2 Jokaero. Erik Úlfarr
I haven't tried my hand with the named Inquisitors, yet, but I can't really see why you shouldn't take a normal one. For the price you get a pretty decent stat line, the mandatory 1 HQ slot, and the option for some nifty items. I'd much rather spend the rest of my points bulking up a unit or two, rather than throwing 100+ on one model. That being said, I'm only playing 500-750pts at the moment, so going with any other HQ choice seems rather wasteful to me. As to your question, Corteaz is really the only way to go for mass henchmen. If you want to use your own model, story, etc. then go for it, and just use it as a 'counts as Corteaz' model. TheDarkOne
I use Ordo Malleus =][= with TDA armor and Psycannon. He sits with 5 man termi squad w 2 psycannon 2 halberd and daemon hammer. Thats 12 relentless psycannon shots from the squad... good times... And before someone says i can't have 2 psycannons in a 5 man squad, they are half of a combat squadded 10 man termi unit. Haven't experimented with henchmen yet, but here is a cc unit i would reccommend: 6x DCA 2x Banisher w Eviscerator 4x Crusader Deadly... needs a delivery system though, I'd think a storm raven would be nice! Inquisitor =D=
Ok then, so focus time. I've been rereading the codex for the 12th time now and have decided Valeria may be worth taking for the surprise factor. Str 10 Ap 1 pistol shot may be worth a few laughs, not to mention her PokeBall I mean Hyperstone Maze. So what I'm asking now then is, what models would you recommend if I were to convert one? =]D[= Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232601-inquisitors/#findComment-2800126 Share on other sites

I have seen some great eldar conversions for Valeria and after seeing them thats the way I will be going. Godhead
I am running a generic OM Inq in power armor with 3 servo skulls (I am running coteaz as my main hq) and an incinerator with 5 DCA, 3 melta henchmen, and 2 crusaders in my 1500 point list. I am really liking the squad so far. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232601-inquisitors/#findComment-2800700 Share on other sites
