Vojnik
hello i plan to model russ and just would like some input in terms of modelling scale how tall he would be compared to marines and terminators. to my general knowledge he is about a head taller than a marine and about the same height as a terminator. what's your thoughts? btw long time browser on here, i may have to induct myself and show my wolves. see you around :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232654-height-of-russ/ Share on other sites

In old fluff, compared to other Primarchs, Russ was a "giant among giants". I believe only Magnus was larger/taller. Given average Marine height of about 7 feet, I'd swag Russ at least 12 feet. Schertenleib
According to the Black Library books, the Primarchs tower over the Astartes as the Astartes tower over regular humans. So if Russ was one of the tallest of the Primarchs then 12' sounds about right. Schertenleib
have to wonder if the Inquisitor model line would be about the right scale for a base for a Primarch. Gree
Anything you want. In A Thousand Sons both Russ and Magnus appearantly are able to change size and height. MaveriK
Alright, I'm gonna be serious now.. I don't recall Russ ever having the ability to change his size?! nor any other primarch, excluding Magnus. His ability is more acceptable being a sorcerer and all. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232654-height-of-russ/#findComment-2799590 Share on other sites
LUPUS FIDELIS
12 FEET? I agree that the fluff might indicate that, but wouldn't he look really out of place next to the rest of his legion? I'd say a head and a half taller than a terminator and considerably bulkier myself. Who knows some day he may be playable, doubtful, but who knows. (Of course that could be metaphorical, but Magnus does the same trick in Battle of the Fang) Hmm I seemed to have missed that. That's why I said it could be metaphorical. The text is vague. Russ and Magnus are described on pg 547 as ''It seemed as though the combatants had swollen to enormous proportions, like the giants they were in the myths and legends.'' Of course that part is rather vague and can be interpreted in any number of ways. HvitrValdyr
I think the battle in Thousand Sons means it in a metaphorical way. However, by Battle of the Fang Magnus had "evolved" past physical restrictions and was able to actually change his dimensions when in physical form. Vojnik
thanks for the reply. i plan on using the scibor 28mm SF lord as Russ. the model is a head taller than a greyhunter and a bit taller than a wolf guard in TDA. a general view of the primarchs that all of them are taller than marines but here and there i get comments that Russ was short (near same height as a marine) and that's why GW modelled Russ the same height as a marine. persoanlly i'll probably go for the same height as a dreadnought, maybe slightly shorter.
