Coopervisor
I've been looking online to see if I can find anybody that has done this before, but no luck so far. So thought I'd check if anybody had any experience working with these parts. What I'm after is a Dreadnought with both a right handed and left handed Assault Drill . I'm wondering how easy it would be to buy two and simply add one to the shoulder pad for the right handed DCCW. Looking at photos on line the DCCW uses a different mount to the other arms (assault drill, chainfist and seismic hammer), but the shoulder itself looks to be the same. The other parts don't seem to be "handed", except the joining piece that fits to the shoulder and then a pivot to the weapon itself. This is better seen on of the seismic hammer from a Bitz site (found here) My question then is would that part simply be reversible, or if not, could the part be easily redone in plasticard/GS to match for the other side? Any tips or advice would be appreciated, before I'd have to buy the 3 different arms needed to try it myself! (I'm aware there is a plastic drill fist type thingy included with the GW ironclad box, but I'd prefer to use all FW parts to maintain a certain look) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232733-reversing-fw-dreadnought-parts/ Share on other sites
Bannus
I am converting a MkIV seismic hammer to fit a MkV Ironclad - by using the "shoulder" of the Mk V and the lower arm of the MkIV. It is a very simple and easy conversion to make. Same could be done here. You would need a Furioso right arm - but it would be very easy to do. Coopervisor
Thanks I may look into that. Might just have to go for the purchase and keep my fingers crossed in the end! Coopervisor
If anybody is interested, I took the plunge and gave it a go. It is as simple as using the connection piece in the shoulder for the right handed DCCW shoulder pad. Very easy. It depends on what you want to acheive, but all the other CC weapons could be reversed or duel wielded. As a photo says a thousand words... http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b76/angelofrage/IMG_20110627_201815.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232733-reversing-fw-dreadnought-parts/#findComment-2804608 Share on other sites
Montuhotep
Impressive - you started me pondering the same thing as it looks so easy and the overall effect is good - can we have another photo from the front, please, so that I can see what both of them together look like? Thanks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232733-reversing-fw-dreadnought-parts/#findComment-2808803 Share on other sites

Brother Morgan
Here's a link to my first post back in Sept 2007: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...ege+Dreadnought It's based on an Epic Warlord Titan. The head has been replaced with a Skull and I've Milliputed a Rib Cage onto the Torso. All parts of the arms have little magnets in them and are fully moveable. Nearly 4 years on and I still haven't painted it yet!! Thanks. Am away from home right now, but there is a second photo from the front in my wip thread linked in my signature. Its the most recent post. Its very easy, just means buying an extra arm to get the right shoulder.
