Invasion

[Regem Nox]

Viktor stalked through the marble rubble, gunning down screaming eldar civilians as he did so.

“death to the xenos, Invaders, kill them all!” he roared, whilst firing round after round into a sprinting banshee.

To his right a brother was thrown of his feet by massed shuriken fire.

“No!” Viktor screamed his denial, “for every brother you kill I will kill 100 of you!”

A thunderous blast threw victor of his feet, an eldar warlock had joined the fray.

 

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you” grunted Viktor as he sprinted towards the warlock, with a swing of his chainsword he removed the top of the eldar’s head, or so he thought.

“over here,” a voice ghosted into his thoughts.

He spun and there in front of him was the warlock

“ whatever,” he said disdainfully as he shot the warlock through the head with a blast of his bolter.

Moving on, he picked another target...

The next target was a guardian, and the one after that a dire avenger.

surveying the hall, viktor realized that he was alone. Everything was dead, including his squad.

"sector cleared," he announced bitterly to the vox,

"roger that Sergeant, converge on me, reznov out."

Viktor stalked out of the hall and met his captain, who was crouched behind a barricade with three of his honor guard, evading a Bright lances fire.

"viktor!" his captain shouted, " don't come any closer, go around and take out that sniper!"

Viktor sprinted around down a sub corridor and up some steps onto an exquisitely carved balcony.

The eldar ranger spun, produced a long sword and engaged Viktor in a duel.

Viktor parried with his chainsword and counterattacked with a fist to the rangers stomach.

The eldar crumpled and Viktor shoved his chainsword through the eldars fine-wrought face plate.

"captain, sniper eliminated, all clear."

"Good job Viktor, sergeant Nikolai is stuck in sector Theta-9, he needs our help, let's move!"

"roger that, I'm on my way...."

"HUZZAH!" screamed the five invaders as they crashed into a squad of eldar guardians, "DEATH TO THE XENOS!" roared captain reznov as he obliterated the squad leader with his thunder hammer.

Viktor ran a young eldar female through with his chainsword and lifted her into the air, the chain blades spraying goblets of meat in all directions.

"Foes of the imperium, abandon you're stations, abandon you're comrades, abandon you're hope, The Invaders are here!" intoned Reznov,

"HUZZAH!" Screamed the remnants of the command squad, hacking and slashing apart the eldar squad. They were now joined by Squad Nikolai, now numbering only four men. The eldar guardians were swept away in a tide of green giants.

Numbering nine men, the remnants of 5th company advanced into yet another hall, but this one was different, this one contained

eldar civilians, numbering in the hundreds.

"NO MERCY, KILL THE ALL!! Viktor was surprised to hear his own voice leading the chant, what followed would remain with him to his dying day. The defenseless civilians were massacred in their dozens as brother Vladimir's heavy bolter powered up, spitting out a hundred bolts a minute. The invaders may have been willing to murder civilians, but they weren't getting their gauntlets dirty, they stood back from the screaming horde and pumped bolt after fatal bolt into the screaming masses.

"In the emperors name," intoned reznov, " Fear is our weapon, purity our Armour"

The eldar horde died gradually, they had nowhere to run, they were trapped, and the only exit was past the astartes and not one of them was going that way.

Standing over the bloody remains of the eldar, Viktor checked his ammo count,

"one mag left captain," he reported.

"were all down on ammo, use you're last shots well," Reznov replied.

"roger that."

The ad-hoc squad turned and started walking out of the hall, behind them stood a squad of striking scorpions, lead by an exarch.

"captain, that exarch must command the whole striking scorpion temple on this planet," Viktor reported.

"clear me a path, If he dies then a whole part of this craftworlds command structure will collapse"

"understood, 5th company, lock and load!"

"you should not of done this, filthy human," snarled the exarch, "my people will be avenged!"

"Do you fear death, xenos?" asked captain reznov, "because you should as it's coming you're way! INVADERS! ENGAGE!"

"HUZZAH!" roared the invaders as they charged forward, firing as they ran.

Viktor pumped round after round into an eldar, shooting till his bolter clicked dry, he discarded it as did the rest of the squad, and drew his chainsword.

The two squads met, twenty five eldar versus nine invaders, a fair fight.

Viktor punched an eldar so hard it's face ceased to exist, then he parried a foes chainsword to quart and slid his own blade down his foes guard till it reached the eldar's hand, the century's old metal teeth made short work of the xenos's hand, arm and head.

Reznov had reached his target, The eldar exarch's chain blade was the size of an eviscerator and he wielded it two handed.

At his feet lay two of Viktor's brother's, Nikolai and Andrei, they would be avenged.

Reznov swung his hammer in a powerful downwards blow that the exarch spun around. The chain blade came in hard and fast, impaling Reznov.

"ARGHH!" the captain screamed, "you'll have to do better than that, scum, this is just a flesh wound.

Reznov headbutted the exarch, breaking his helm before, unbelievably, pulling out the still whirring chainsword that was in his chest and swinging it round.

"DEATH.TO.THE.XENOS!" screamed reznov before decapitating the still reeling exarch with a single blow.

The captain dropped to the ground.

"NO!" Viktor shouted as he ran towards the prone form of his captain, "NO!"

Reznov was dead.

Getting up, Viktor looked around. Again, everyone was dead. He was the only survivor.

5th company was gone, and their was still work to be done.

Picking up his captains thunder hammer, Viktor vowed to make these alien scum pay...
