MaliGn
Hi, I've been working on my Word Bearers without using metallics, results are mixed so far but I'm currently working on a Rhino which I am also attempting t complete without using metallics. I've been looking around the various forums and web for examples of other people's non-metallic tanks or any tutorials without a huge amount of joy so I thought I'd just ask and see if anyone had any experience or had seen any examples out there. Urb
Not sure what you are looking to do here. There are not many places that you actually use metallic paints on a tank but where there are the standard NMM techniques should apply. If for the TT then I'd say just go metallics. There is so much more time and effort doing NMM with little visual gain. If anything well done metallics look better in many cases. CarbonCopy
How about some photos? That's the fastest and easiest way for us to know where your at so we can give advice that may help. Otherwise, the only advice I can give is to do a google image search from "draw chrome". That should give you tons of useful visual references to copy as far as highlight and subtle blend placement. Commander S. Caesare
Pretty good paint job. A non-metallic tank is hard to get. Either buy it a GW or scrap the parts. I think metal parts give the most detail, less likely to break (Trust me, I stepped on enough pieces when I first started playing.) U could get parts from ForgeWorld, if u decide to go with resin. Personally, I like resin over all materials. Hope my opinion helps you out, man. Yup, that's my WIP Resin Baneblade from ForgeWorld with my Sorcerer: http://i1119.photobucket.com/albums/k640/Cristian_Ly/p0016090110.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232879-non-metallic-tanks/#findComment-2824448 Share on other sites
Lorenzen
thats a plastic baneblade.. the resin one from forgeworld looked noticeably different. in terms of non metallics on tanks, it depends on the finish you want to acheive.. look at things like this http://www.coolminiornot.com/281835 for inspiration. personally im not a fan of nmm but if you succeed with it more power to you Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/232879-non-metallic-tanks/#findComment-2824707 Share on other sites
