Ragnar's right shoulderpad?

Let's assume Ragnar's model was where his right shoulderpad were visible. What would it show?

His left shoulderpad shows his "blackmane" emblem, albeit stylized and in the round, versus a decal, so it would be redundant to have his right shoulderpad painted yellow with yet another blackmane emblem... right?

Almost anything :

  • While it's slightly redundant to repeat the company symbol, the left pad is heavily stylised - it wouldn't be so bad to have a "clean" version on his armour.
  • Personal heraldry - That big complicated back banner from 2nd edition. Could be a nice project for an enthusiastic freehander...
  • Simplified heraldry - In my mind I'm seeing Ragner's company banner from the current codex - Black-maned Wolf rampant on a red backround, with a yellow diamond behind the face, standing on a chaos star. People free-hand the great-wolf symbol to good effect all the time (I believe there's even a tutorial somewhere around here) so this shouldn't be much more taxing.
  • Terminator Honours - this is my go-to option for characters I'm out of ideas for. If you're confident with green stuff you could lengthen the teeth for the 'long fangs' skull, or replace the standard skull with a wolf skull or diamond jewel.
  • Rivets. Use MkIV, MKV or just a hybrid reinforced pad. Looks good. Looks serious and it's ever-so-simple to achieve.
  • Any generic runes or honour markings - I'd stay clear of too large a rune, since it brings you into rune-priest territory, but a larger honour marking with a row of smaller runes underneath wouldn't look so bad.

Personally I'd avoid the "straight" great wolf marking - it really only seems to appear on things that "belong" to the great wolf, which I think sends the wrong message visually, even if the fictional character them-self wouldn't mind.
