Paint scheme worthy of a prince....

Recommended Posts

Hi brothers,

Whilst being mostly loyalist, I've taken a fancy to a small number of models to add to my collection as I like them, amongst them is a Daemon Prince.

I've decided that I want his armour to be red with a silver trim (word bearers I belive, though I elected it purely because its the antithesis of my ultramarines gold and blue)

However I can't settle on a skin colour I think would work the best with the colour scheme on the armour. After much looking for inspiration I found this image recently on the GW website:

I wondered what you thought about how this would work with the red and silver as I do quite like it, though I would appreciate some input as to how to replicate the effects....

Thanks

Noone has any ideas on how to get that Chimera's skin? :)

Well i'll outline what Im thinking to replicate it:

- Model has a chaos black spray as the base

- Mix up a dark purple to go over the black

- Apply patches of white thinly (not sure whats best to apply it with in order to create a nice even spread without the paint lines evident)

- Apply over that a thin layer of blue paint to create that sort of lightning blue effect, possibly repeating this step a couple of times to create a gradient blue?

-Apply an even lighter blue or some white to highlight and detail

What do people think? Could that replicate the chimera skin?
