Emperor's Children is amazig, especially purple... Golden NMM on aquila is awesome too.I think, that this mini would look even better with the same gold at shoulderpad trim

Alright so, going to roll with The EC.

The shoulder Pad is an issue at the moment. I dont know if I am ambitious or (talented) enough to free hand it? The metal ones from Gw are probably to small. May have to try to GS a mold and make them...

This is what ive got so far.

This guy will be the captain of the first Tac Squad.

Not sure if I like the placement of the wing. Also made a press mold to hopefully mass produce them. (fingers crossed.)

I have several of those-- they work pretty well on the current arms. If one is too snug you can use needlenose pliers on the inside to spread it a bit wider. All in all though the EC pads are one of the better sculpts of the older pads.

I actually have a few old metal pads like Iron Warriors and Black Legion. They are a bit small compared to the plastic pads. You could try a method like Boltergeist said and give em a bit of a stretch with some pliers. Never tried it myself but it should help give them some bulk.

Hey dude, looking really nice, I'm a sucker for purple. Concerning your Jetbike I like it, but I'd like to suggest the Iron Shark jetbike from Kromlech, I started a thread in the Dark Angels sub-forum if your interested, it may still be on the 1st page.

Those Jet Bikes are cool!

do they come with the stand and base?

Unfortunately they don't, but they're resin, and really light, GW Landspeeder or lighter, so GWs flying bases are quite acceptable.

Cheers,

Jono

  • 2 weeks later...

Well the big update is I have decided to switch to Hawk Lords.

To be honest, I just dont like the look of the pre heresy armor. Wouldnt make much sense to be pre-heresy and be equipped with modern weapons armor etc..However i Love the color scheme.

Spent some time today, and there is quite a nice range of raven guard models available. So I should be able to outfit this army quite nice.

Anyways a little more progress.

Um, that freehand chapter symbol looks oddly like the Emperor's Children's legion symbol.

For the Hawk Lords symbol look here.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice work. It's just the wrong symbol. Sorry.
