AridMonk
For those folks who wont/don't venture into the WIP forums, I thought I'd start a thread categorising my finished mini's from my White Scorpions army build project. First up, my finished Sevrin Loth model, or in my case, Librarian Xandrai of the 4th Company: http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m549/AridMonk/SevLoFinishedFront.jpg http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m549/AridMonk/SevLoFinishedLeft.jpg http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m549/AridMonk/SevLoFinishedRight.jpg http://i1131.photobucket.com/albums/m549/AridMonk/SevLoFinishedRear.jpg Stay tuned over the coming weeks for more :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233104-the-white-scorpions/ Share on other sites
Shadow Nugz
Looks good! The OSL on his eyes is really understated but it really helps the look of the model over all. Also the effect on the axe around the lightning bolts, how'd you manage that? Looking forward to an army like this! Urb
Well painted. Strange colour combination but comes out nice. Not sure about that mask. It's DE? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233104-the-white-scorpions/#findComment-2805826 Share on other sites

AridMonk
Thanks gents. @ Shadow Nugz: The effect on the axe was made using blending, had GW Liche Purple and Skull white watered down, and after basecoating with the purple, then marked out what I call energy spikes (the white bits on the axe) added gradually more and more white until it was pure white, trying to keep all the energy spikes going in the same direction. Using the same technique on my Sarge's power weapon, so may do a tutorial when I get round to it. Thank you for your comments :) @Urb: Thank you. Do you mean his face mask? If you mean Dark Eldar then no, its the MK4 helm that comes as standard on the Sevrin Loth kit. @Beef: Thanks man, first time ever doing it, came out ok I think!! Shadow Nugz
The area around the lightning bolts? Or are you talking about the stipe-ey things on the actual blade? Either way looking forward to the tutorial. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233104-the-white-scorpions/#findComment-2806159 Share on other sites
AridMonk
Oh, the really dark area? I was talking about the stripey things yeah <_< The dark area is just 2 or 3 washes of leviathan purple wash. Use baal red for red, thraka green for green etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233104-the-white-scorpions/#findComment-2806164 Share on other sites
Waka Waka
Looks great, but I have to admit I'm particularly jealous of your blending and OSL abilities. Great model!
