Chengar Qordath
Aside from the upcoming Space Marine game (X-box 360 & PS 3) I don't think there are any 40k console games. burningblades20
Squad Command is PSP and DS only but apparently there's some type of 40k kill team game coming out for PS3 and XBOX360 on July 26th they mentioned at the E3 expo but it's a third person arcade style shooter mentions downloadable so guessing it will be in the respective shops you can access from the consoles. Most of the 40k games were made for PC fire warrior is the only other 40k game I can think of besides space marine that was made for the console and fire warrior was PS2. AbyssKnight
Dawn of War (and its expansions Winter Assault, Dark Crusade, and Soulstorm) and Dawn of War 2 are real-time strategy games for the PC. Fire Warrior was a first person shooter for the PS2. Squad Command was a turn based strategy game for the PSP. Kill Team is a third person arcade-style shooter for the PS3 and Xbox 360 (PSN and Xbox Live Arcade) Space Marine will be a third person shooter for the PS3 and Xbox 360 Dark Millennium Online will be a MMO for PC Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233124-best-console-for-40k-games/#findComment-2805334 Share on other sites
Solid Zaku
PC mate, don't bother buying something you can't upgrade. Everything from Epic: Liberation to Space Marine has been on PC. It's not nerdy to be a PC gamer anymore. Frankly it's just the better option all around. Then again, you could (Throne help you) be using a Mac... Wine can help you if you have that problem, but you'd probably be better off selling it for a PC (and real wine to get over the 'oh god I got suckered into buying a Mac' headache) Not trying to make this PC v.Mac , just saying that they have very few games. It's not nerdy to be a PC gamer anymore. Frankly it's just the better option all around. Or you can have a one off payment for a fraction of the cost for a system that gets better quality graphics as the games developers get to grips with the console, for no additional cost for the entire life expectancy of the system. Ever. PC gamers don't seem to understand why so many people prefer consoles. Yes a high end PC has awesome graphics. It also costs more than a console and requires periodic upgrading on a regular basis in comparison to consoles. And since more people think that way the online community is larger. Brother Leonidas
As a PS3 player i say a PS3 slim as it has the same cost as a XBox, free internet and has better hardware. Ok... lets not start a PS3-XBox-PC or (Mac?) discussion thread as the only thing we agree on is that we dissagre. End of that discussion. :P You can play combuter for graphics and just ad a PS3/XBox controller thou. But Space marine is comming for pc too i think. AbyssKnight
Sorry, yes, Space Marine will be out on PC as well. Kill Team will be out July 26, and Space Marine comes out September 6 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233124-best-console-for-40k-games/#findComment-2805475 Share on other sites
Captain Juan Juarez
PC - and I say this as an avid 360 player - because of the far superior range of games that the PC market already has for Space Marines and 40k in general. Spiny Norman
PC mate, don't bother buying something you can't upgrade. Everything from Epic: Liberation to Space Marine has been on PC. It also costs more than a console and requires periodic upgrading on a regular basis in comparison to consoles. And since more people think that way the online community is larger. PC gaming is rapidly increasing market share vs console, primarily as PS3 & 360 are so old. Games developers (such as DICE with Battlefield 3) are having to "dumb down" games to get them to work on consoles now, as console tech is so far behind PCs. Obviously you are right about the cost, and the (occasional) need to upgrade, but to suggest consoles have better quality graphics than PCs is just nonsense. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233124-best-console-for-40k-games/#findComment-2807984 Share on other sites
Captain Idaho
Well actually my point is still entirely appropriate. For the cost of a console you will certainly be getting a rather poor PC. Sure a top end PC will be amazingly powerful, but like I said, it costs. Don't get me wrong, I love my PC, but it's 5 years old and now needs an upgrade to grant me decent usage in gaming. Sure I can minimise all the graphics but that kinda sucks... If you don't have the money a console is the best option. Olis
PC mate, don't bother buying something you can't upgrade. I'll have you know my PS3 has upgraded hard-drive memory, good sir. Granted it's the only thing I've upgraded but still, the point is made. :o Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233124-best-console-for-40k-games/#findComment-2811194 Share on other sites
