Puhnupetteri
Hi I Was wondering has someone made or know some link for modelling a Attack Of the blackreach (AOBR) space marine captain Nowaday everyone in my playing group plays wysiwyg (what u see is what u get) Captain has default Power weapon Boltgun Power armor I would like him to have Relic Blade (Or is there a difference wich blade it is or do i just announce that blade is relic?) Artificer armor Stormshield And depending situation jump pack. I dont have any spare pieces for this so if u happend to know a jumppack conversion site or how to easily make one from green stuff i would appriciate Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233164-modelling-experience-on-aobr-captain/ Share on other sites
facmanpob
Can't help with the modelling aspect, but against my usual opponents they are very happy for me to count his power weapon as a relic blade <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233164-modelling-experience-on-aobr-captain/#findComment-2806175 Share on other sites
Venerable Jazzman
I've converted two of them, as they weren't particularly Blood Angelsy Leave off the front part, with the head, torso and bolter. Trim down a chest piece so it fits in - you need to shave the shoulders back, but once you've got the two parts in your hands you'll see what needs to be removed. I'm sure one of your gaming group will have a spare chest plate if you've not got one available. You won't need to do any work to the power sword arm - I've swapped mine over, but I wanted a different weapons load. To get the left arm to fit, I trimmed the arm/cape back to the bottom of the shoulder-pad, then trimmed down a ccw arm until it fit neatly. (pic 2) Again, if you've not got one, ask around. You might need to hollow out the back of the neck to take a new head, I can't remember for sure. You'll also need a tabard to cover the hole left at the crotch, as the front part of the AoBR mini has a loin-cloth. I've changed the one in pic 1, it just didn't hang right, and the second guy has a BA chest piece with hanging decoration that covers it over - I think there might be a blob of putty behind it as well It's not that difficult, but plan what you're going to do before you start cutting, especially if you've not got a lot of spare parts yet. pic 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/fatjazzer/BACapt1.jpg pic 2 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/fatjazzer/BACapt3.jpg pic 3 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v110/fatjazzer/vscp1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233164-modelling-experience-on-aobr-captain/#findComment-2806200 Share on other sites
red_starrise
Here's my WIP jump pack chaplain made from the AoBR captain. http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Imperial%20Fists/CIMG4818.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Imperial%20Fists/CIMG4817.jpg http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x84/red_starrise/40K/Imperial%20Fists/CIMG4819.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233164-modelling-experience-on-aobr-captain/#findComment-2806904 Share on other sites
Brother Valerius
As far as relic blade and artificer armor goes, you can just say he has those. Since there's no real way to denote them in a WYSIWYG fashion, you'll be fine. Thantoes
Did mine like so. If you want the storm shield then it would be very easy to swap out the storm bolter. Slyfox1990
Did mine like so. If you want the storm shield then it would be very easy to swap out the storm bolter. Mine is identical bar the fact I used a bolt pistol not a storm bolter. Oh and the fact that mine isn't painted, and if it were would look less good Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233164-modelling-experience-on-aobr-captain/#findComment-2809542 Share on other sites
darrkespur
I've done something similar with mine, taking the front chest/bolter piece off and using it with a power fist and dark angels veteran body to make a sternguard sergeant, and using the sword, body and other bits to make a chapter champion. I think the backpack ended up on my scratch-built Pedro Kantor. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5275/5912256785_a3a9080778.jpg Converting the AOBR Captain by darrkenium, on Flickr It's a fairly simple conversion as long as you use poly cement to add the left arm (it helps blend it in, as the elbow is nicely positioned to add a lower arm). I added a chunk of plastic carved in vaguely the right shape to replace the missing groin region, but covered it up with a tabard anyway as the rest of my honour guard squad have tabards. Venerable Jazzman
Nice work Jono, have you got a group shot of them all together? You wouldn't think you could get such a variety of poses from what is essentially the same mini. Xenith
The sword can be used as a relic blade. Glue a large storm shield on to the bolter so that the bolter is concealed. raganrkob
The sword can be used as a relic blade. Glue a large storm shield on to the bolter so that the bolter is concealed. That's what I do, it's very easy as well :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233164-modelling-experience-on-aobr-captain/#findComment-2819163 Share on other sites
