staxer
Played a game today with inqusition / grey knights against Eldar. My Psyker Henchmen were casting Psychic Barrage from the Chimera Fire point. I failed my Perils of the Warp and lost all the psykers and the mystic (he is also a psyker) from that unit. The other members having lost 25% and over of the squad were required to take a morale test even though still embarked in the vehicle. I could not find the FAQ that says they don't take morale tests when embarked in vehicles, does anyone know where it is? Anyway rang local GW shop and the guy said there was an FAQ but i could not find it. My opponent was content to waive the morale test for embarked units. I noticed in my second game today my opponent took Eldrad (swine) which nullified a lot of my psychic powers as I was rolling 3d6 (any roll greater than 12 or a double 1 or 6 got me a perils of the warp test. However reading more FAQ I noticed that the Tyranid Power "Shadow in the Warp" does not effect units embarked in vehicles. This is virtually the same mechanism for the Eldar "Runes of Warding" yet there is no FAQ about this. Other Tyranid powers also do not effect embarked units. Does anyone know an official ruling that would cover these Eldar discrepancies? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233203-psyker-squad/ Share on other sites
Mr.darkness
Not sure about the morale one but for the eldar i think that you have to look at the nid FAQ. It specifically says that it doesn't affect people in transports. The elder one doesn't though. The rules say all psykers don't they? So that means that all psykers including those in transports have to use the 3dice etc... number6
There are no rules for Morale tests while embarked on a vehicle. I too think it's best to just waive Morale tests in those rare cases where it might otherwise turn up. Regarding Tyranid Shadows in the Warp vs Eldrad: GW spanked the Tyranids hard on this one. Count yourself lucky. You don't get any such benefit against Eldrad. Lesson to be learned here: GW is inconsistent and arbitrary and always has been. Don't put too much stock into perceived precedent. Try not to think too hard about it and just accept the rules for what they are and play on! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/233203-psyker-squad/#findComment-2807194 Share on other sites
